Jazmine and Amir were married on 16th August 2024 at Airlie in Warrenton, Virginia. The couple matched on Tinder in 2013 and have been together ever since. The couple wanted a day full of celebrating different cultures coming together and sprinkled in different cultural traditions. Jazmine described her wedding as ‘romantic, slightly whimsical and timeless.’ I just love the gorgeous peach, cream and white flowers in this wedding, the variety pf flowers is just beautiful. What a gorgeous and incredibly happy couple Jazmine and Amir, It looks like they had the best day. Big thanks to 9193 Studio for the gorgeous photos and to event planner Forever Moments for the lovely submission.
How they met
Amir and I (Jazmine) matched on Tinder in 2013 (Amir was 21 and I was 19), met up on a first date at a frozen yogurt shop, and never stopped hanging out after. We had been together for 7 years prior to our engagement in 2020. Amir proposed to me the day after my 26th birthday in front of our friends and family at Greenhill winery. I thought it was a surprise birthday party , but the next thing you know I see Amir down on one knee! It was an amazing day! We now have a beautiful daughter, Aurielle, who is a blessing to have at our wedding.
The outfits
For me, the bride, I wanted something I felt confident and beautiful in and something classy, but still a little sexy. I found my dress at Vivid Bridal Boutique and went with floral appliqués and a gown that I was comfortable in as well. For the bridesmaids I wanted a mix of colours and went with neutral champagne, gold, and moss green dresses from Birdy Grey. For the groom and groomsmen we wanted to keep it neutral and light. Light grey vests and pants with brown shoes. It all went together so well.
Theme or colour palette
We wanted a day full of celebrating different cultures coming together. We sprinkled in different cultural traditions such as a mini version of the Iranian sofreh aghd, and Filipino money dance and attire incorporating the Barongs that were custom made from the Philippines. I wanted our wedding to feel romantic , slightly whimsical and timeless.
Decoration
We decorated the veranda around the Pavillion at Airlie with a DIY seating chart made by my cousins, gold mirrors that I customized using my cricut, and sprinkled in and repurposed flowers that our wonderful florist Laurel Ridge Floral created from the ceremony.
Flowers
When working with our florist, Lauren, with Laurel Ridge Floral, she helped my vision come to life even though I didn’t know exactly how I wanted it to look. I told her how I wanted it to look and feel with some romantic, whimsy, and elegant blooms. Initially I wanted an arch , but then i decided I wanted a background for the ceremony with pillars and flowers on top of them. She looked for some we could rent and it turned out beautiful! She made it happen for us! I was in LOVE with the arrangements when she came to setup. Thank you, Lauren!
Personal touches
Our main focus was to dance the night away and have a good time. Investing in a quality DJ was one of the best decisions we made. We also rented the self serve photobooth with him and it was a big hit! Thank you, DJ Phlipz from ShowPow Events. Another thing we did for the parent dance was that I (the bride) had a mother daughter dance. It was so special and now I will always have that memory with my mom.
Special moments
The most special moment was our first look. I wasn’t expecting Amir to cry (I always cry) , but when I first saw him turned around dressed up, it made my heart melt. When I tapped him to turn around I saw his tears and I was shocked because he rarely cries so it was special.
Advice for other couples
Definitely invest in a coordinator. Brittney with Forever Moments was my right hand woman! She made sure I was on track with everything leading up to the wedding and especially on the day of the wedding she made everything run smoothly and even helped me with a minor dress malfunction and helped sew something back together! Highly recommend Brittney and her team. I also recommend getting things done way in advance so that you aren’t stressing too too much the week of your wedding. Also , if you’re hesitant to book a quality photographer and videographer, this is your sign to BOOK it. You won’t regret it. The team at 9193 Studio , Quang and his team were ecstatic to work with. They were able to capture everything so beautifully in a way that it didn’t look too posed , but natural. Even the posed photos were STUNNING.
