If you are currently dreaming of warmer weather and longing for summer, then todays gorgeous Crete wedding is going to add some sunshine to your day. Mikael and Dorine were married on 16th August 2024 at Ktima Panagiotaki. They held the whole day outside from the stunning outdoor ceremony with soft flowing fabrics and gorgeous flowers, to the beautiful alfresco reception, all set amongst the amazing backdrop of the huge olive grove. The whole day is a delight from start to finish, planned by event designer EL&G Rustic Weddings and photographed by Akis Mavrakis Signature Photography.
In the heart of Crete, amidst the olive groves of Heraklion, Mikael and Dorine gathered with their loved ones to celebrate a love that had crossed borders and blended cultures. Mikael, with his roots in both Crete and Sweden, always felt at home under the Mediterranean sun, surrounded by the olive trees that had been in his family for generations. Dorine, hailing from the Netherlands, was captivated by the beauty of Crete when Mikael first brought her to his ancestral home.
Mikael’s calm, steady nature balanced Dorine’s adventurous spirit, and their connection was immediate. From the canals of Amsterdam to the rugged landscapes of Crete, they travelled together, building a life rich with love and shared dreams.
Now, as they stood beneath the leaves of the olive grove, the warm Cretan breeze carrying whispers of the past and promises of the future, they exchanged vows. Surrounded by the fragrant scent of wild herbs and the setting sun casting golden light over the hills, they pledged their hearts to one another.
Their love was a bridge between two lands, two cultures, and two souls destined to find each other. Heraklion in Crete, with its timeless beauty and history, became not just the backdrop of their wedding, but the place where their two worlds became one.
