Michelle and Martin’s Colourful Festival Themed Tipi Wedding in Cheshire by Lucy Alexandra Photography

I am delighted to share this gorgeous fun filled festival themed wedding for you today, courtesy of Lucy Alexandra photography. Michelle and Martin planned a laid back, fun filled wedding day, full of the most amazing wedding decoration that they created themselves. They took on lots of DIY projects to keep the wedding individual to them, keeping the the colours bright, cheerful and full of festival cheer. With a bouncy castle, food trucks and a brass band playing for entertainment, this wedding is bound to put a smile on your face.

‘Colourful festival’

Michelle and Martin were married on 4th May 2024 (yes big star wars fans) at Duddon mill farm in Cheshire. ‘Duddon mill farm just seemed like the perfect location to have our festival themed wedding, lots of space for food trucks / activities and a big party. We had around 80 guests and it tool just over a year to plan.’

How they met
We meet at 42’s a club in Manchester

How did you allocate your budget?
We DIY a lot of the decor to save money, plus that way we could make it more personalised and more us.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We had lots of food trucks and entertainment to add to the festival feel.

How did you choose your photographer?
We found her on Instagram

Theme or colour scheme
We love festivals and wanted to create our own, we even had our own landyards made with Creffingtonfest on

Flowers
Dried artificial flowers

Decoration
Lots of bunting / flags (that we made our selves with different name of festivals on) / discoballs / dried flowers / all the colour

Food
We had food from flaming gourmond and ice creams from Cheshire vintage fair, all big hits with our guests

Wedding cake
Colin the caterpillar cakes from M&S

Entertainment
Deadbeat brass came shortly after the ceremony and we also had the best man sing for us whilst we did our first dance

Who supplied the stationery?
We did it ourselves

Personal touches
I would say 70% of decor was made by us

Special moments
The set by deadbeat brass was a highlight of ours

What was your biggest surprise of the day?
How fast the day went
