‘Two Couples, One Love’ Pastel and Neon Palm Springs Inspired Wedding Inspiration

I am starting this fine Tuesday with a super stylish and fun filled styled shoot. The shoot took place on 11th June 2021 at The Old Cow Shed in Leicestershire. It was put together by Ellen Sear and a team of talented wedding suppliers. Ellen says ‘I wanted to create boho-vintage Americana inspirational wedding content, where pastels meet neon and old barns meet graffiti, all pulled together with a touch of “Palm Springs”. I wanted to take very popular wedding details and show how you can make them your own.’ I’m sure you will agree they have done a brilliant job at creating this oasis of pastel and calm, mixed with fun and style. I love the mix of colours, the chilled décor and the Cali vibes that come from the soft images.

Bringing vintage Palm Springs to the Leicestershire Countryside. Soft boho meets vibrant California inspired wedding inspiration.

  • Ellen tells us more about the ideas behind the shoot

Having been locked down for the last 18 months, I wanted to bring some vintage Cali vibes to the UK. The wedding industry was seeing the return of disco balls and flared trousers so I wanted to take it a step further and provide couples with some colourful retro inspiration for those missing out on travelling.

We were inspired by retro California and Palm Springs Vibes. Think palm leaves, pink Cadillacs, old motels and diners. Our mood board incorporated pastel colours with pops of fuchsia and turquoise. We had dried florals, pink sunglasses and even a mint green convertible figaro.

The Old Cow Shed was the perfect setting. It’s a fairly new venue but isn’t like any other. The barn is lit up by a bright pink neon sign that exclaims ”Holy Cow” and outside there is a graffiti mural wall. The Shed is the perfect backdrop for couples looking to make a statement; couples who aren’t as stimulated by regular barn venues.
