Here at Boho I am always on the look out for new venues and try my best to get out and see as many of them as possible. A couple of weeks ago I went up to Leeds to meet with some new suppliers and look round some venues. The Mansion at Roundhay was one of those venues, so I thought I thought I would share my thoughts and findings.
The House is set in Roundhay park; 700 acres of parkland, woodland and water gardens with some amazing fountains and fantastic photo opportunities.
The mansion itself was built in early 1800s and has recently undergone an extensive renovation to the Grade II listed building, re opening it’s doors to the public last summer.
The building on the outside is ‘Grand’ to anyones standard but it wasn’t until I went inside that I got that ‘Wow’ factor!
The inside is very clean and even though the designers have managed to keep it’s original history they have made the overall look modern and un fussy (which is probably why I liked it) i was greeted with glass doors and then an amazing stair case.
I was then greeted by Michael the Senior Events Manager who showed me round.
Downstairs is the ‘Colonnades’ which is a light, bright room with view of the lakes and direct access to the grounds, this room holds 100 for dinner and 150 for a evening reception.
Then up stairs past the enormous crystal chandelier to the ‘mansion Room’ another light bright room, bigger than the Colonnades, so perfect for bigger gatherings. With it’s own private bar and permanent dance floor the Mansion Room holds 150 for dinner and 2290 for an evening reception.
There is then the option fo 3 much smaller rooms; The Fountain Room seating 24 and 40 for a reception, and the Waterloo Room and Barran Room both seating 12 and 25 for a reception.
As well as this stunning venue, when you book your wedding or event at the Mansion you also get the amazing services of Dine, who offer first class service and amazing food. You have many different options of food and drinks packages, along with a bespoke option, tailor made for your needs and tastes.
I was personally very impressed with this venue. I’m not really one for old buildings, or your traditional wedding option, but Roundhay seems to hit the right balance of grand and contemporary all in one go.
If you are looking for a venue with that Wow factor then this is the venue for you!
