Intimate Derbyshire Elopement Wedding Inspiration

I love featuring shoots that are local to me. This one, with an intimate elopement wedding inspiration theme, took place just around the corner in the beautiful Peak District. The shoot took place on 27th January 2022 at Callow Hall Wildhives in Derbyshire. The whole shoot took inspiration from the woodland surroundings, with the gorgeous greens, mixed with accents of copper, all with an eco-friendly twist. I absolutely adore the set up of the shoot, the cake, the flowers, the whole decoration is quite exquisite. This shoot is all about luxury, while following your dream of a wedding outdoors. Rustic can still be full of detailing, full of stunning flowers and the most delightful outfits! Big thanks to Helen Rose Photography for these gorgeous images.

A shoot at a location in the Woods which demonstrates that you don’t have to compromise on luxury when planning an outdoor Wedding in the heart of nature.

Helen tells us more about the shoot

The idea was to create an extremely intimate elopement styled shoot in one of the unique boutique “Wildhives” built into the hilly woodland.

We held a ceremony, with Your Story by Lauren Oldfield on the deck with Wedding rings provided by Jessica Flinn Jewellery and Flint and Steel.  An intimate drinks reception and grazing platter and cake were enjoyed on the extensive balcony then adjourn to the woodland dining area for a wedding breakfast with a handful of their guests later in the day.

Sage and Belle Styling was able to take inspiration from the Wildhives by choosing a colour palate of copper, latte, green with a gorgeous pop of plum for contrast. Floral features of garlands and a broken arch were created by Karon from Meadows and Mulberry using sustainable methods. Eco- friendly mechanics for the broken arch and the garlands along the balustrade were also incorporated. The orchids and seasonal hellebores ‘popped’ alongside the greens of the foliage and coppers of the roses.
Styling featured natural materials of wood, copper and brass with an abundance of coloured candles to enhance the romance.

Makeup created molten brown and copper eyelids, long lashes and a sun-kissed lip to compliment the bride’s skin tone and hair colour. Classic waves then an elegant pinned back hairstyle was chosen for the wedding reception. We chose day dresses that were sleek and elegant as well as veils, lace cape and stunning head pieces. We went for more softer dresses for the reception, one beaded the other soft tulle. We chose to use a mix of suits one a mid-brown and the other a mid-blue tweed from Brigdens with a burnt orange tie which complemented the pops of colour.

Lisa from Urban Cake House’s passion is creating sugar flowers to tie in with the theme of the wedding. She used a neutral palate for the base cake and embossed the middle tier to add texture. She handmade David Austin roses as well as tea roses and Vanda Orchids. These were arranged with sugar foliage and twigs to give a loose informal feel to the cake. Inviting Writing UK supplied some stunning stationary which included vows, sign and table place settings with individual menus that also incorporated hints of creams, browns and copper.
