Heather and Evan’s Adventurous Micro Wedding in Colorado by Celebrate Again

Happy Tuesday everyone, and for those of you waiting for the children to go back to school…not long now, hold on we can do this! I don’t know about you but this summer seems to have gone on for ever! It has been lovely being away so much, we have had some great family holidays over the past few weeks and wonderful days out, but I do feel like it’s time to get back to work now. So on with today’s wedding and it’s a real beauty of a day. Heather and Evan both wanted different things from their wedding, one wanted to elope, while the other wanted a more traditional larger scale day. So as with married life, they compromised with a micro wedding. They made it totally them by turning their day into an adventure wedding, with a hike to the ceremony area and the first look of dreams! The scenery is breathtaking, so many amazing photo opportunities, all captured perfectly by Brittany one of the photographers of Celebrate Again.

Emmy G from Celebrate Again tells us more about the day

Evan and Heather were married on 25th June 2020. They decided to settle between eloping just the two of them as Evan desired and a larger wedding which is what Heather wanted by having a mirco wedding complete with a mini reception. I also loved that they included a, as they coined, “wedding cabinet” instead of wedding party which included a handful of some of their closest friends that said yes to traveling to Colorado for their adventurous wedding.
They ultimately decided that as weddings get bigger the day becomes less and less about the couple and more about pleasing people which is why they decided traveling out to Colorado would be perfect for them and few of their closest family and friends.
Planning their wedding when COVID hit threw a few curve balls their way but the benefits of having an outdoor wedding along with a smaller guest list made things a bit more manageable. Their day consisted of a short hike for their first look where their wedding cabinet joined them in the beginning then gave them time to just be together for the first time on their wedding day surrounded by the sweeping valleys of some of Colorado’s many glorious mountains. They then went up a pass and said their vows at one of the many  points in Colorado where the continental divides lies. Heather’s grandfather sweetly walked her down the trail in what we adore about outdoor weddings is an extravagant lengthy aisle to greet her groom and a friend that officiated their ceremony.
After saying I do they head back into Buena Vista where they had a mini reception at the Surf Hotel, complete with some of their beloved guests who no longer roam this earth honoured in picture frames. The small touches of their reception made their day feel like a perfect blend of grand adventure and elegance which matches their classy style and adventurous hearts.
It was such a joy to come alongside them and help them plan out all the details as their elopement guides and celebrate with them as their photographers.
