Yay it’s Friday, I hope you have had a good week so far and that you are looking forward to the weekend? Who will be watching the football on Sunday? I’m guessing most people will be, lets hope the boys bring it home and we all have something to celebrate on Monday! We have a pretty busy weekend planned apart from the football, test drives in potential cars, site visits for future parties, play centres and birthday parties! What about you? I would love to hear form you if you are getting married or attending a wedding and don’t forget to send your beautiful wedding photos into me so I can feature them here on the blog. Moving on with today’s styled shoot and it’s a real beauty! Totally romantic and full of elegant lux detailing and decor. The shoot took place on 8th September 2020 on the Brijuni. The Brijuni Islands are a group of fourteen small islands in the Croatian part of the northern Adriatic Sea, and what a stunning location it is. These images are jaw dropping, totally spectacular, I know you will love them. Big thanks to Moon Weddings for the beautiful mages and to Weddings in Croatia for the gorgeous submission.
From the first visit to the magical place that is the Brijuni National Park, we realized that this place would make for a perfect backdrop for this styled shoot.
We were inspired by the untouched beauty of nature and the rich cultural and historical heritage that this place has to offer. Each historic period has left some trace in this place and we can say that over time the island archipelago has become a unique open-air museum.
Istria offers many breathtaking wedding locations, but when you step on to the Brijuni Islands, it seems that time has stopped, and that you are in a unique place, almost indescribable with words. Amongst the various locations that this island has to offer, we were primarily inspired by the beauties of the ancient remains of the Church of St. Mary and the Byzantine Castrum.
For flower decorations, we chose light and pastel tones such as light pink, peach and light blue with the addition of various dehydrated flowers. Following current trends, we wanted to use materials like Plexiglas, mirrors and crystal that created a perfect contrast with the surrounding stones, pillars and walls – a touch of elegance where time seems to stand still.
Golden details gave even more light to the whole set-up by adding a luxurious touch to the table designed for a romantic and intimate evening and a large amount of candles was used to set a romantic and elegant atmosphere.
For “the ceremony” we chose the unique location of the Byzantine Castrum. This way, we wanted the focus to remain on the beauty of nature, we played with the decoration shapes inspired by the environment, so the bridal dress with its simplicity and elegance fits perfectly into the whole story.
A place like this can almost be forgotten, but the inspiration here can be found on every corner and nothing leaves you indifferent. That is why we think that Brijuni Islands, as well as the whole of Istria, is a great location for luxury destination weddings.
