‘Modern Bohemian’ White and Dusty Pink Wedding Inspiration With Accents of Mustard

I have the most adorable styled shoot to share with you today, put together by Akilah Atiba-Davies at Events with Akilah and Imogen Eve Photography. The shoot took place in August of last year (2020) at Gate Street Barn in Surrey Hills. The inspiration for the shoot came form a mustard sofa and from there the vision came to life. Using muted tones of soft white and dusty pinks, which made the accents of mustard really pop. The collective used pampas grass, along with neon signs to bring the elements of modern and rustic together. Gorgeous flowers, amazing cakes and the most stylish of outfits all pulled together to make this shoot a real inspiration for any modern day couple looking for a style wedding mixed with a whole lot of romance.

A modern city twist on a bohemian wedding theme. It is full of life and love for any intimate or larger celebration.

Akilah and Imogen tell us more about the shoot

(Akilah from Events with Akilah) Being a new wedding planner from London, I wanted to establish my style and inspire fashionable, rule breaking couples that putting their personal style on a traditional wedding theme is the way to go. (Imogen Eve Photography) I’m also new to the wedding photography scene for 2020 and I love anything rustic. The dried flowers, pampas grass and colour scheme really compliment the warmness in my edited style and it’s really great to be a part of a shoot which reflects your own style, enabling you to connect with like-minded couples.

The colour Mustard. And wood were our inspiration. Sounds strange,  but as soon as I (Akilah) saw a mustard sofa, it led me on a wild tangent and then the models inspired me for the rest. When we selected Gate Street barn as the venue, we knew we needed to bring a modern twist to the theme; the couple are young, London city lovers, so it suited them completely, with statement dresses and suits using pops of mustard to really bring the vision together. We used a neutral white and dusty pink pallet to ensure those mustard pops really made an impact.

We wanted ‘wow’. Picking the suppliers was the easy bit as Akilah knew exactly who could pull off those next-level elements. We hope other couples will look at the shoot and say ‘wow, this is what I want – and it’s affordable and achievable’.
As the photographer (Imogen), I’m delighted with the outcome and the feedback has been amazing. I feel really proud to be a part of this shoot.
