Adventure Honeymoons to Start Planning

Getting married is one of the most important experiences we’ll ever have to go through in life, so it just makes sense to plan for a honeymoon that you will remember forever.  Booking an all-inclusive holiday at some of the world’s most luxurious resorts is often the first thing that comes to mind when planning for a honeymoon. But if you’re the kind of couple who craves adventures, it’s worth seeking out off-the-beaten-path destinations.

Going for an adventure honeymoon could mean trekking into Machu Picchu, exploring the jungles of Vietnam, or seeing the majestic Northern Lights in Ireland. Whatever sort of adventure you’re after, there is certainly a destination out there that’s waiting for you to discover. To help you plan for your honeymoon, here’s our take on the best adventure honeymoons.

Peru

The Inca citadel of Machu Picchu is one of the world’s most incredible ruins, set high in the Peruvian Andes mountains. For couples who love both adventure and history, trekking Machu Picchu is certainly the perfect activity. Steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery, this is the perfect place to spend some quality time with each other while learning about the interesting history behind this 15th-century Inca citadel.

Machu Picchu offers plenty of activities for couples on honeymoon. Take time to explore the quaint town of Cusco during your visit to Machu Picchu. Explore the archaeological remains and marvel at the colonial architectures built during the Spanish occupation. Spend the day trekking through the rolling mountains that will lead you to the same path where Incas walked hundreds of years ago. Although you can visit Machu Picchu independently, booking a tour package is the best way to go.

Madagascar

But if you want your honeymoon to be something unique, head to Madagascar, a tiny island country off the Indian Ocean. Madagascar may not be as popular as the other nations in Africa but this country has plenty to offer for honeymooners.
