Alejandra and Esteban’s Vibrant Costa Rica Beach Wedding by Four Nineteen Weddings and Raw Shoots Photography

Today’s wedding features lots of my favourite thing: a Grace loves Lace dress, beach venue, outdoor ceremony and dinning, succulents, amazing flowers and rich vibrant colours. Alejandra and Esteban enlisted the super wedding planning powers of Four Nineteen Weddings and the results speak for themselves. Everything about this wedding is a delight. It is relaxed, yet has a strong theme and everything is so well thought out. I just love the deep blues in the escort cards against the rich red and oranges of the flowers. It really is pure wedding perfection. Raw Shoots Photography were there to capture the day and what a fantastic job they did.

The wedding was laid back and intimate. A day to celebrate our relationship with the people we love the most!

Alejandra and Esteban were married on 1st December 2018 at Pangas Beach Club in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. We wanted to have an outdoor wedding and the tree and overall feel of Pangas was everything we ever wished for, laid back and beachy. We had 65 guests and it took a year to plan.’

How they met
We met when we were studying Portuguese and we have been together for 7 years.

The proposal
On the third year anniversary of us moving in together Esteban told me we should go have a dinner to celebrate. I arrived home and instantly felt the smell of flowers, as I went up the stairs I saw the candles and pretty much a garden in our living room. Esteban was there sitting in the middle and the got down on one knee and proposed! I wasn’t really expecting it and it was amazing!

How did you allocate your budget?
Our main goal was to give our guests an amazing experience so we knew that music and drinks were very important to us.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We splurged on the drinks, music and the location! We saved on the decoration since the restaurant is just so beautiful it didn’t require much.

How did you choose your photographer?
We found them on Instagram and fell in love with their pictures. Non of the pictures looked made up, they captured real moments and that really drew us in!

The dress
My dress was by Grace loves Lace and my hair piece was by a Costarrican designer called Madre Perla.

The suit and bridesmaids
The suit was Massimo Dutti and we didn’t have any bridesmaids.

Theme or colour scheme
We wanted deep colors and blue accents

Flowers
Everything local. The main focus was incorporating succulents and cacti into the design.

Food
We had a buffet consisting of fresh, locally sourced fish, beef and fresh salads.

Wedding cake
Made by Victoria Zoch, as well as the dessert table. The cake was vanilla with passion fruit filling and we decided to decorate with fruit instead of flowers.

Entertainment
We had a singer for the ceremony and cocktail hour and the a DJ for the party.

Who supplied the stationery?
The seating chart was custom made by our planners!

Personal touches
We really wanted to have a carpet on the ceremony so my mom very kindly let us use hers.

Special moments
The ceremony was overall my favourite part. We did a ceremony of the roses where we gave our parents one rose each to thank them for everything and it was just so emotional. I could barely talk!

Advice for other couples
Definitely get a wedding planner if you can! I felt so relaxed on my wedding day and the days leading to it. I was able to enjoy every single second of it.

Biggest surprise
How fast everything went. I know people always say that but it’s so true! The whole day felt so surreal and by the time I realized the day was over.
