The Honeymoon is possibly the most exciting part of planning a wedding. That time with your partner after the wedding, when it’s just the two of you, away from all the stresses and strains of all that wedding planning! There are so many honeymoon destinations you can venture to these days, so it’s important to stay organised and in check with what you need to take with you. This afternoon with the help of our friends at Sandals we have a list of the Top 10 things you need to pack for your honeymoon. I hope you find it useful.

I’ll pass you over to the guys at Sandals for their top 10 tips

‘Your honeymoon is one of the most special trips you’ll have. It marks the celebration of a new life together as a married couple. Yes, there is a lot of pressure to make it perfect, but it doesn’t have to be.
With the right preparation, you can make this trip less daunting. In this guide, we’ll teach you the 10 most important things you should be packing for your honeymoon in 2019.’

  1. Headphones

No, not to tune out your spouse but to keep yourself entertained during those long-haul flights. Let’s face it, after you’ve sat down in the same position for a couple of hours, you get antsy. The best way to get rid of that feeling is by immersing yourself in a really interesting movie or documentary. Have your spouse join in on the fun as well so you can both forget just how miserable you are in this giant tin flying in the air.

  1. Swimsuit

It doesn’t matter what the climate in your destination is. This is just one of those must-have items that you should pack in your bag. You can wear it to the beach, the pool, the jacuzzi, heck, even the tub when you’re having sexy time with your spouse.

  1. A nice outfit

A romantic breakfast, lunch, or dinner with your spouse is a must for every honeymoon. You want to dress for the occasion so make sure to bring at least one nice outfit. One that shows your spouse how much you care about them. Sure, it seems shallow but it’s an ego boost for your husband/wife that they have an arm candy hanging around them.

  1. A backpack

One of you should be carrying a backpack for your day trips. You don’t want that uneven weight distribution ruining your shoulders. Decide which of you two will be carrying a backpack and the other can carry a lighter bag. No need to argue about who’s the stronger sex here. You can always take turns carrying.

  1. A power bank or spare camera battery

All phones have cameras nowadays so it’s impossible not to take pictures of your trip. However, we still haven’t found a way to extend the battery life of our devices so for now, power banks and spare batteries should suffice. Make sure to bring one with you so you don’t miss a single moment.

  1. Sunglasses

You’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors so make sure your peepers are protected with a pair of Layoners sunglasses.

  1. Sunblock

Don’t forget to apply sunblock too! Your vows may surpass those wrinkles but hey, anything to prevent it right?

  1. Comfortable shoes

She wants to shop longer. He wants to cover more sights. One of you is going to want to walk more than the other. To avoid arguments on the road, bring comfortable walking shoes so you can keep up with each other. Trust us on this one.

  1. Lingerie

Isn’t this where it all leads to? You’re in a beautiful destination, alone with your spouse, and you just got married. What is there to do? Of course, some sexy fun! Make it more exciting by bringing some lingerie with you. Some husbands like to do this for their wives. But if you’d really like to make him happy, buy a couple of your own and surprise him with different styles. You’ll be coming back home from this trip with more than just happy memories.

  1. Emergency kit

Nothing ruins a honeymoon faster than an accident that you can’t fix. You want to always be prepared so always have an emergency kit with you. It should have the basics such as motion sickness medicine, antihistamin, antacid, aspirin, bandaids, tide pen, sewing kit, etc.

Do you already have these included in your packing list? Share other essentials you’d like to include too. Let’s continue the discussion in the comments below.
