Helen and Jonny's Bright and Beautiful Vegan Camp Wedding in North Yorkshire by Carn Patrick

Today’s wedding really is something special! It takes place at Camp Katur in North Yorkshire which is a gorgeous glamping site. Helen and Jonny were looking for something where they could hold their outdoor reception that had personality as well as lots of quirky details and this fitted the bill perfectly. With a totally vegan menu and a bright and beautiful colour scheme, this wedding is a Bohemian dream. My two favourite aspects have to be Helen’s gorgeous needle and thread dress and their super cute pet dog……how much fluff can one dog have! Carn Patrick was there to capture the day and what great job he did.

It was a quirky, boho, relaxed day with the most wonderful people. It was amazing.

Helen and Jonny were married on 23^rd August 2018 at Camp Katur, Bedale, North Yorkshire. ‘It wasn’t a traditional venue and this is why we loved it. We loved that it was outdoors, quirky and totally different. We had 90 guest sin the day and 140 in the evening, it took a yeear and a half to plan.’

How they met
We met in a bar in Hartlepool and been inseparable ever since. Helen was 17 and Jonny was 21. We have been together nearly 13 years

The proposal
Jonny wanted it to be at a place we could always go to and had a meaning to us. We love being outside walking with our dog, so what better place than the pier on the beach with our pooch running around loving life.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
Food was expensive as we had lots of guests. We saved on transport and we made all of our decorations.

How did you choose your photographer?
We seen Carns amazing work through facebook and once met he was so lovely we just knew we had to have him.

The dress
Irregular choice shoes, needle and thread dress. My hair comb was etsy and Jonny got Helen a bracelet.

Colourful and boho

Flowers
They were fake flowers which were beautiful and colourful

Decoration
Pom poms galore with ribbon wands, and glitter for the centre pieces.

Food
We had a vegan menu. Soup for starters (tomato), curried chickpea with coconut rice, naan and mango chutney (main option 1), butternut squash tart with potatoes and veg (main option 2), chocolate brownie for dessert
