Patricia and Hugo’s Traditional Mayan Beach Ceremony in Cancun by Martin Wilk

If you are feeling cold today and a bit fed up of the miserable winter weather, I have just the thing for you. I am taking you off to Cancun in Mexico for this stunning beach wedding, full of glorious sunshine, sea and the most stunning wedding. Patricia and Hugo chose to hold a traditional Mayan ceremony, an ancient tradition that incorporates the blessings of the wedding guests, along with rituals that the bride and groom take part in. They chose the most amazing setting both on the beach and inside at their gorgeous resort. They filled both areas with modern geometric decoration, mixing in Boho touches of natural elements and the most delightful flowers. I just adore the see through gown that Patricia is wearing and the decoration is outstanding. All captured by Martin Wilk.

Patricia and Hugo got married at Jardin Del Mar, near Cancun, on June 29th. It was a hot sunny day and perfect to get married at the beach. These two are very much in love with each other, and as expected on their wedding day, love was in the air.
Friends from all around Mexico and the world gathered at Jardin Del Mar, near Cancun, in the Riviera Maya, for this special day.

Hugo and Patricia had a Mayan Ceremony officiated by a friend of theirs. My favourite thing about Mayan Ceremonies is that they get everyone involved in the ritual, parents welcome their new family members and friends can come forward and offer the couple a blessing.
They gave out panama hats and bamboo fans for the guests to cool a little bit during the ceremony, and the cool drinks didn’t take long to come out of the bar afterwards.
I was in awe at how beautifully decorated the place was, like all the other guests were too. Minimal and geometric flower pieces mixed with rustic wood and glass decorated the tables. And the cockatil garden had chairs and stools with a very vintage vibe.
Before dinner was served Hugo surprised Patricia by singing for her, and later that night they blew everyone’s mind with an amazing Tango!
