Jessica and Adam’s Blush Pink English Country Wedding with Dried Flowers and Doughnuts by Oobaloos Photography

Happy Monday everyone. Welcome back to the blog! Last week saw us go slightly off schedule as we celebrated all things Halloween and Autumn, with plenty of pumpkin filled weddings and gothic styled shoots. This week, normal service has resumed, so it’s lots of pretty Boho style weddings and plenty of love and smiles from across the world for you. Today Jessica and Adam have been kind enough to share their gorgeous wedding with us, courtesy of Oobaloos Photography. Jessica and Adam found Sheryl from Oobaloos Photography via this very blog, after I featured her work last year, so it’s an absolute delight to be able to feature their wedding. Their day was filled with lots of late summer sunshine, a Tipi ceremony, a gorgeous blush pink wedding gown, dried flowers, a doughnut tower and singing bridesmaids. What a way to start the week.

A personal, laid back and mirthful affair, it reflected who we are as a couple perfectly.
The soul of the day was truly ours.

Jessica and Adam were married on 2nd September 2018 at The Old stables Swithland, Leicestershire. ‘The venue itself was exactly what we wanted, small, intimate, relaxed and catered to all of our needs, It’s a stunning little venue and is only 5 minutes down the road from where we live, it’s set in the heart of the beautiful Charnwood forest  and completely in keeping with the countryside aesthetic that we adore. We had 88 guests  and it took 6 Months to plan (after changing the date twice.) We fell pregnant before the first date so postponed however once our son Seth arrived we decided to bring it forward again, we didn’t want to wait.’

How they met
We had been friends for many years and together as a couple for almost 3 years

The proposal
On the day of Jessica’s birthday in May ’17, on the South lawn overlooked by Belvedere castle in Central Park, I gave her the Tiffany ring box disguised as a present.

How did you allocate your budget?
We didn’t!

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
I’d like to think we were quite thrifty across the board, saved the most on all the bits we made ourselves.

How did you choose your photographer?
Saw examples of Sheryl’s work on Boho Weddings and loved her style.

The dress
Watters Carina corset & Ashan skirt. – Blush Pink/Rose Gold (I absolutely adored my dress and loved the fact that it wasn’t a traditional wedding dress, when I set out looking for my dream dress I knew that I wanted a little bit of colour, I saw this dress on a blog a knew that this was the dress, I bought the dress before trying anything else on.) Tiffany Ziegfeld pearl drop earrings.  Calvin Klein Two-tone Steel & Rose bangle. Britten Wedding Silver pearl back drop necklace. VANS Satin  Lux Old Skool shoes.

Made ourselves

Personal touches
Our celebrant Jo conducted the most beautiful & personalised ceremony, in fact a lot of our guests thought that she was a friend due to the detail she went into about us both and our lives together, she was fantastic.
Custom Snapchat filter! Laser cut guest names, Painted table names, Garden games, Centrepieces, stationary, Order of service sign, Wedding arch.

Special moments
Seeing the tipi all set up for the first time, trespassing in the next field over for some great shots and perfect “Last day of  Summer” weather. The VW Photobooth was also a huge hit with all of the guests. We were so happy how everything came together to make our day perfect, all of our “big decisions” for example our photographer Sheryl, our celebrant Jo and the band we chose all just worked perfectly and made our day so special.

Biggest surprise
Bridesmaids custom song to the tune of Paul Simon’s Call me Al, That and just how perfect our day turned out to be.
