Morgane and Frédéric’s Origami Filled French Château Wedding by Estudio Dita

Happy Friday everyone, I hope you have all had a wonderful week and are looking forward to some fun weekend activities. I am super excited as this is the first proper week of new working schedule. I now work Monday – Thursday no Fridays and no Saturdays, so my weekend officially starts today, it also means that for the first time in 8 years I actually get Saturdays off, which I am so excited about! Today to finish of our fabulous week of weddings, we are taking you off to France for this beautiful French Château wedding. Morgane and Frédéric filled their day with pretty white, mint and peach details along with a wonderful origami theme, including 1000 paper cranes made by the groom to represent good luck. A stunning wedding with a beautiful backdrop, captured beautifully by Estudio Dita.

Conviviality and nature

Morgane and Frédéric  were married on the 11th June 2016 at Château de Beaussais, Bretagne, France. ‘Both of us have family in Bretagne and we wanted a marriage close to the sea and to the nature. We had 150 guests and the wedding planning took almost a year. We were helped by our wedding planner.’

How they met
We have a common friend and we met New year’s Day 2009. We have been together for 5 years.

The Proposal
I (Frederic) proposed to Morgane in front of the sea in Bretagne. I had prepared a magic trick to make the engagement ring appear and I had reserved a nice hotel near the sea.

How did you allocate your budget?
Half of the budget for the food and the beverage, 10% for the place, 10% for the decoration

Why did you choose your photographer?
One of my best friend (Frederic) is a professional art photographer and was friend with Bernardita. This advice was her wedding gift

The Dress
Rime Arodaky (dress), Swarovski (jewels). For the shoes, I wore a pair of wedge shoes I already own because when I choose my dress the saleswoman told me “these are just perfect with the dress”.

The Suit and Bridesmaids
Faubourg Saint Sulpice (suit and shoes). The bridesmaids choose their own dress, but in compliance with the colour scheme.

Theme or Colour Scheme
Theme: origami. Color scheme: white, mint and peach.

Flowers
I (Morgane) had peonies and antique roses in a headband. Same on the table plus gypsophila and mosses.

Decoration
I (Frederic) fold a thousand origami cranes for the decoration (according to a Japanese legend, it makes your wish come true). They were suspended on the ceiling. We give to our guests origami heart inside small glass bottle. And some bonsai. And suspended candles inside glass container with moss, amongst the origami cranes.

Personal Touches
The thousand origami crane, plus all the decoration that we did by ourselves. We also have a copper and glass box with moss and small origami crane for the wedding rings.

Special Moments or Highlights
The secular ceremony, led by my (Frederic) uncle.

Advice for Other Couples
Smile and enjoy your day. Choose an amazing photographer because that is what is left from your wedding.

Biggest Surprise
My bridesmaid surprised us with the jazz band. And their first song was “All you need is love” from The Beatles.
