Ask the Experts: 5 Bridesmaids Brands You Can Get Excited About

This afternoon we are thrilled to welcome celebrity stylist and our resident fashion expert Holly Ounstead back to the blog to share her recent foray into Bridesmaids fashion! She has a fabulous selection of fashion designers to share with you today, and so i’ll let her get straight to it!

I’LL PASS YOU OVER TO HOLLY TO TELL YOU MORE:

I’m in full wedding plan mode at the moment, and with just 9 months to go there’s been one question that’s started to pop up time and time again; ‘where can I find cool, chic, un-generic bridesmaid dresses? As a stylist struggling with styles is not usually a dilemma I face, and naturally I wanted to investigate this bazaar situation!

I don’t settle when it comes to sourcing the best possible option, no stone goes un-turned when I’m on the prowl for the perfect piece! However, after spending many hours finding the dress of your dreams, you are then faced with the task of finding some pretty stunning styles for your army of gal pals, we all need super chic side-kicks to get us through our big day! I’ve been reading a fair few bridal magazines and blogs recently and although bridesmaid dresses are talked about, it seems to be a breezy subject and one that isn’t explored properly or in any fashionable depth.

This month I’ve done my research (and hopefully yours too), putting together 5 brands that you and your bridesmaids can actually get excited about. So in no particular order, here are my favourites;

Grace Loves Lace

…and so does every boho loving bride-to-be! Grace Loves Lace is all about beautifully cut, boho-inspired pieces. The brand pride themselves on delivering to women with style, substance and passion – specialising in unique, free-spirited and timeless dresses handmade from the finest French and European lace and silks. I’m sold!

RIXO London

RIXO is on the list because of my personal passion towards the brand. Henrietta and Orlah set up RIXO a couple of years back and I’ve been obsessed with their designs ever since! For a summer bride that wants to add a bit of colour or print to her bridesmaids look, then this brand is simply perfect. RIXO have brought vintage boho to the streets of London in one silky smooth movement, and I for one am grateful! Favourite styles are the Issy and Lily dresses.

The Reformation

This is THE destination to shop for your bridal party! The Reformation provides a range of silhouettes for every body shape, provides fabrics that flatter the figure and gives endless options of colour-ways and prints. Plus, the brand is 100% sustainable, ethical and environmentally friendly – you can track the environmental footprint of your chosen piece before purchasing it by using the brands #Refscale tag. The brand is boho not just in it’s styles, but in its way of life. I for one will #jointhereformation.

PPS Couture

I am a sucker for a floral print gown, and who’s to say that your bridesmaids can’t wear prints? I don’t mean to be a tease, because these dresses aren’t actually available until January 2017, I am on the waiting list! But I wanted to include the brand because it combines boho styles with formal silhouettes that will flatter any figure. Perfection!

Needle and Thread

Sold on ASOS and Net-a-Porter, you might have already looked at Needle and Thread because of there exquisite beading and embellishment work. Needle and Thread provide a variety or 20’s style drop waists, tulle ballet skirts and cap-sleeve A-lines. The brand is perfect for an evening or outdoor wedding – adding a touch of boho-glamour to any bridal party. If you want your girls to sparkle then this is most definitely the brand for you.
