Meet Becky – Team Boho’s London Reporter

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is so close you can almost touch it! I hope you have a good one planned.
This afternoon I have the pleasure of introducing you to Becky, the newest member of Team Boho. Becky is based in London and has been brought on board to cover all the London events going on in Wedding land.

I get sent so many lovely invitations to events, shows, launches and the like however as I live in Sheffield I really struggle to get down to London as much as I should. That is where Becky comes in. Becky will be acting on my behalf attending events and blogging about them right here on a Friday afternoon in ‘Becky’s Adventures’

Meet Becky

Meet Becky - Team Boho's London Reporter

Hi, I’m Becky. A city dweller, living with my partner right in the heart of everything, in London. By day I work at an advertising agency selling dreams and connecting brands with people. By night, I am passionate about exploring everything the city has to offer; the innovative food, quirky immersive plays and the latest shocking exhibition. My biggest passion though is to travel, and i take great delight in discovering a new place, so I try and escape as much as I can.

I am so delighted to be part of Boho Weddings. I am practically a professional wedding goer and just love experiencing or looking at a couple’s special day and seeing how they have put their own unique stamp on it.  I am a little obsessed by all things decadent and vintage and love anything that is a fairy tale come true.

Please make her feel welcome and if you are a company putting on an event and you would like Becky to attend then please do let me know [email protected]

First off Becky will be telling you all about an event she attended a few weeks ago, hosted by BRIDES Magazine.

I’ll pass you over to Becky………

So my first event, as Boho wedding’s London representative, was a dinner hosted by Condé Nast Brides in the Shooting gallery at the Haymarket Hotel. What a great first event!
The event was a dinner for bloggers in the wedding know; a networking event with no agenda and no pressure, just a chance to get to know those in the industry and have fun.

I was the first to arrive at the stunning Shooting Gallery, obviously being a bit too keen to impress at my first event! Instantly greeted with a warm hello by the ladies at Condé Nast Brides, I was swiftly handed a French 75 cocktail (a gin based cocktail with champagne and lemon juice), which not only tasted great but hinted this was going to be a special night.
About 25 bloggers were invited in total, from all corners of the wedding industry; from wedding planning and venues, to food and media. I was so impressed and inspired by everyone I talked to and proud to introduce myself as the new addition to the Boho team!

After some canapés and a few more (!) French 75s, we were called to the dining room.  Never had I been in a room so beautiful to eat! The opulent gold decorated walls, the soft glow of the delicate chandelier lights and the beautiful flower bouquets and arrangements were absolutely stunning and only magnified the grandeur of the room.
I had high expectations of the food if the room was anything to go by.  And it did not disappoint. It was a 3 course meal created to compliment its surroundings. I particularly enjoyed the carefully chosen cocktails to accompany each dish on the menu.  My favourite was the chilli and watermelon rocks (a gin based drink) to go with my chargrilled tuna and salsa verde. The freshness and fruitiness of the drink really enhanced the meaty tuna.

There was a lot of chat about clean living around the dinner table – healthy food choices and the latest exercise crazes – it was all very on trend.  This was also reflective in the menu choices. It demonstrated how you can do fine dining without breaking the fat bank!
The meal ended on a high, with one of the best desserts I have ever had – a passionfruit, coconut and mango parfait…with a little purple macaroon delight.  So so good.
Condé Nast topped it off with an amazing goody bag – we were really spoilt. It was packed full of little gems like hair necessities and potato vodka!  All of which I am slowly working my way through.

So a big big thank you to Brides for having me, it was a dream dinner!  What a great way to immerse myself in the world of wedding blogging!  I am already looking forward to what’s next!

Becky xx
