Honeymoon Ideas – Where to Honeymoon in September

This afternoon we have our resident Honeymoon expert Tom back to share with you all his knowledge on September Honeymoons. If you are super organised you may be planning your September honeymoon for 2017… or you may just be lucky to get a last minute deal for next month! At least the prices should have dropped since the school holidays will be over! Many thanks to Tom for sharing these ideas today, I’d love to know if you are planning a September break and where you are off to.

I’LL PASS YOU OVER TO TOM….

September is a great month for honeymooners as it’s just outside of peak travel season yet many destinations still offer amazing weather and a wonderful atmosphere. Here are some fabulous places to honeymoon in the month of September…

Greek Islands

There are more than 6,000 islands in total, with 227 being inhabited. When it comes to an island honeymoon, there really is nowhere else more amazing than Greece. With so much choice, you’ll be spoilt for options. Just a handful of the best islands for romance include Santorini, Mykonos and Paxi; the first offering insane views and the best sunsets, the second offering the ultimate in luxury everything (from food to shopping to resorts) and the latter offering the most secluded beach spots for lovers.

South Africa

Africa is the ultimate destination for safari goers but if you want safari exploration combined with beaches, shopping and nightlife, the soulful country of South Africa could be a fantastic honeymoon spot for the adventurous. Cape Town is renowned as one of the most beautiful cities in the world whilst Johannesburg is the country’s sprawling capital steeped in rich African history. For some of the best African safari experiences, stay at Kruger National Park or for your own little two-person adventure, hire a car and tour the famous Garden Route.

Morocco

September is the beginning of the autumn season in Morocco, a time when temperatures become much more manageable. Stay in a traditional riad in Marrakech and enjoy the traditional Moroccan spas, explore the Atlas Mountains with a guided tour or relax in luxury at the famous resort town of Agadir.

California

The sunshine state offers warm to hot weather in September, with long hours of sunshine and little chance of rainfall so it’s a great time to honeymoon here. The Pacific Coast Highway Road (State Highway 1) is of course the most famous driving route for just-married romantics who want to cruise with the roof down and enjoy complete freedom. Or you could lay your hat down in one of the luxury 5 star resorts along South Bay in Los Angeles where you can live the life of Hollywood or go a little further out to Santa Clarita Valley, where exclusive hotels and villas offer spectacular views. Other cities worth exploring are San Diego and San Francisco.

Dubai

For unadulterated luxury, there’s no city in the world quite as glam as a trip to Dubai. Enjoy champagne filled brunches, designer shopping and exclusive resorts with the most refined restaurants. From the profligate 7 star properties which will pave a red carpet walkway for newlyweds to the tallest skyscraper buildings with romantic city views for the romantics, you’ll be sure to find the perfect honeymoon location in the stylish city of Dubai.

Thanks so much Tom, great advice as ever! I visited Dubai many years ago and now am keen to return!
