A Lakeside Dreamcatcher Inspired Tipi Shoot in Cheshire

This afternoon we have a dreamy inspiration shoot for you from Cheshire, but filled with Native American and Arizona desert influences. These influences are at home in the tipi and with a whimsical yet rustic vibe the decor is warm and welcoming. The floristry sets off the theme perfectly with a gorgeous floral crown and unstructured bouquet. I especially love the non-white wedding gown and non-traditional accessories – definitely a bold yet beautiful look for a boho bride. Many thanks to Rebecca from Pretty Creative for the submission and the wonderful images from Lucy G Photography.

Rebecca from Pretty Creative explains more about the shoot

I asked talented Lucy from Lucy G Photography to capture these lovely images. I wanted to create our own spin on a beautiful Arizonan feel, dreamcatcher inspired wedding, in Cheshire, England in late spring! As a child I travelled through Arizona and remember learning about dreamcatchers. That they were hand made with love (often by parents for their children), to catch any bad dreams, with the good dreams finding their way through the dreamcatcher’s web and sliding down the feathers and dropping lovely dreams on the sleeper below. It has always stayed with me and I wanted to use that symbolism in the shoot as I feel it is a great concept for a wedding. The idea that friends and family come together, making handmade touches, to bless and bestow good wishes on the happy couple.

I spent hours before the shoot making the dreamcatchers and it’s really lovely as our beautiful model Beth, was married shortly after the shoot and she had the dreamcatchers hung above them as they took their vows.

The tipis have a natural warmth to them and we wanted to work with that so went for a colour palette of coral pinks, peaches, teals, golds and white, with beautiful foliage, succulents, tassles and feathers.  The fabulous tipis are from All About Me Marquees and were placed along the lakeside at Cherry Orchard, Delamere. I am constantly inspired by nature, but also love interior design trends. At the moment, native american crafts, macramé, tassles and feathers are still really influencing design. The very talented Fiona at Felicity Cooper Bridal designed the bespoke gown, specifically for the shoot, it was perfect and looks really relaxed and boho particularly teamed with the stunning florals by Living Colour and accessories by The Native Soul.

Heather at Living Colour is the most amazing florist, she took the brief and made the most perfect bouquet and floral crown they were just stunning!  All the floral details just tied in so well, and what you can’t tell from the images, is the beautiful scent from the jasmine that hung from the 2 large dreamcatchers and decorated the cake. Thanks to Jules too from Living Colour for all her help on the day. For the stationery, lovely Emma from Hattie Boo Designs created some boho invitations with striking white printed feather accents which she hand drew and then incorporated into the stationery suite.

I had the idea of placing the table seating plan on a dreamcatcher that we could hang in the tipi, which looked perfect next to the rustic cake on the wine barrel by Becky at Time For Sweetpea. It created a lovely focal point in the venue. We carried the theme through with the name places, set with dreamcatchers, succulents, macrame napkins and feathers. We also had a pretty array of soft blankets and throws from The Little House Shop, to keep guests warm!

Clare from Harry Jon created Beth’s beautiful look with natural hair and make-up that really enhances Beth’s pretty freckles and sunkissed hair. With the floral crown, the look was complete.
