Today I have another totally beautiful wedding for you, courtesy of Matthew Irving. This gorgeous barn wedding comes all the way from Colorado and is full of country charm, pretty pastel flowers and a totally gorgeous bride and groom. Courtney and Evan chose this venue as it gave them the option of holding their ceremony outside, while keeping the boho chic theme that Courtney was looking for. With a mix of rustic touches and elegant chic this wedding oozes style and it one that I know you are going to love.
Courtney and Evan were married in The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park, Colorado on the 20th June 2015. No one would have known that the couple struggled to find the perfect venue to showcase their sophisticated, whimsical, outdoor tastes. However, when they discovered The Barn at Memorial Park, they were blown away by the gorgeous stained glass windows juxtaposed by the subdued gray wood facade.
The Dress
Courtney looked like a boho barbie in her Wtoo gown, heirloom jewelry, and jeweled Stewart Weitzman jellies (she said she wanted her shoes to be barely there – just a shimmer beneath her gown).
The Suit
Evan’s chocolate and navy attire recalled days of dapper men and perfectly tailored textiles.
The Food
The four course Colorado fare, grilled peach salad, blue corn chicken with flank steak, cake and s’mores, then some tasty late night snacks, tied up the theme in a deliciously filling bow.
The Cake
The gorgeously elegant, yet rustic naked cake decked in beautiful blooms caused some confusion amongst the old-school guests. (We overheard several hushed conversations conducted in an attempt to uncover what had happened to the cake – it was really cute.
Personal Touches
Courtney is a fashionable bride herself and loves the boho-chic look. In fact, upon seeing her bridal bouquet created by A Design Resource she beamed, then exclaimed, “It’s so boho!”. All of the lovely details she had painstakingly planned alongside Lindsey from Bello & Blue came together stunningly! The two were inspired by the natural beauty of Colorado as well as the soft romance and playfulness of love. They married the inspirations to create their Colorado rustic-whimsy wedding theme. We just loved these two! We laughed from beginning to end, and shed a few tears as well. Courtney and her friends joked that Auntie Etsy had made Evan’s sister’s floral belt and the couple’s rustic ring box, while Evan pointed out that to Courtney, the reception was all about the details. The soft and whimsical floral centerpieces paired perfectly with the very Colorado venue and touches. The eclectic collection of ivory chairs added boho charm and the custom lawn games brought on a hint of childish nostalgia. The signature cocktails, named to honor each side of the family, were the toast of the festivities. The chuppah was the veil worn by the bride’s aunt on her wedding day and the covering for the ceremony table belonged to the bride’s late grandmother.
Entertainment
As much as Courtney and Evan reveled in the sweet and moving moments of their day, they also liked to party! And with The Wash Park Funk Band to get the party started, so did the rest of their guests. Not one moment went to waste, as these newlyweds laughed cried, and danced whole-heartedly – they will certainly live their lives together in just the same way!
