Happy Friday everyone, have you got that Friday feeling? I do hope so! I am off to Cornwall tomorrow for a week so I am in full holiday mode. Nik Dexter and I are off to see my mum and step dad, to have some family time and to enjoy a few pasties and cream teas. I’m hoping for good weather as we are staying right by the beach, so I can’t wait to take Dexter to buy a bucket and spade and enjoy a few days splashing about in the sea with him. Kelly C will be looking after things while I’m away and we have both been busy making sure there are lots of real weddings for you until I get back.

Tess and Dan were married on 19th December 2015 at The Outbarn in Clitheroe Lancashire. ‘I’m from Pendle and the venue has a spectacular view of Pendle Hill. We had a total of 110 guests and it took 5 months to plan.
How they met
We met at work.
We were in Botswana on safari and we’d planned a camp out that night – about 5 miles away from the campsite which was essentially a bed on a tree, both romantic and terrifying. Dan proposed over dinner before we went to the campout over a private meal overlooking the Okavango Delta, trying to ignore the sound of hippos mating.
Where did you splurge and where did you save
The wedding was pretty handmade, my mum made the wood blocks seating plan and the wicker flower arch, Dan’s brother designed and made the invitations, and I did the order of service, Me and my mother-in-law picked the pine cones for the seating plan so as much of possible we did it by hand – both to save money and to make it personal. The big spends were on the big things, venue, food, booze etc.
How did you choose your photographer
Mark photographed my sister’s wedding 6 years ago and we loved his work and his style. He so discrete, you don’t notice him but he gets all the shots!

Theme or Colour Scheme
Not really a theme, just rustic
Vintage dusty pink roses, loads of Mistletoe, Lizianthus, Gypsophilia, Eucalyptus and other foliages.
Starter: Chicken and baby leek terrine with roasted hazelnuts, pickled mushrooms and tarragon mayonnaise, Goats cheese mousse with beetroot puree, roasted hazelnuts, white balsamic and micro basil.
Mains: Slow cooked shoulder of lamb with rosemary and garlic, with carrot marmalade, crispy potatoes, red cabbage and merlot puree, Moroccan butternut squash pie
Dessert: Rhubarb and custard tart with strawberry and black pepper coulis
