Can you tell our readers a little more about the new collection
I really wanted to bring to life elegant, contemporary dresses for a range of women with the 2016 collection. As you can see every dress is completely different. I wanted my first collection to be made up of a variety of shapes and styles so there would be something for everyone, whilst still being centred around my main inspirations. Silk is the main factor of this collection and always will be with further collections. It provides such quality and comfort which is so important to me, yet is still just absolutely stunning to look at and touch. It is wonderful to work with such a pleasure for brides to wear.

What were the main influences designing this collection
Silk is a beautiful natural fibre that can then be weaved into a multitude of different types. I like to use silk for it’s surface value and doesn’t like to over complicate it. I believes in having the utmost quality in every dress, and silk provides this absolutely.
Reductivism and minimalism encourage us to re-consider the purpose of design. The artistic movement uses simple, geometric shapes and lines and the repetition of them. This is true for the patterns of my dresses, I want each piece to be a simple clean cut shape constructed from strong lines.
Anti-figurative forms also play a huge part in my inspiration. Essentially taking away from clothing, the idea of figure in terms of the human form. I believe that although women’s figures can play a huge part in our beauty, it doesn’t necessarily have to define it. Therefore I like to play with silhouettes, and include a vast variation that might not be considered typically bridal, as you can see throughout the 2016 collection.

Can you tell our readers a little more about your company
I am a London based luxury silk wedding dress designer, specialising in gowns inspired by minimalism. My dresses themselves aren’t minimalist aesthetically, the construction is. What I choose to interpret from minimalism and translate into dressmaking is reductivism, which, essentially is reducing the components of a product, to end up with the least complicated outcome. This achieves my goals of ultimate comfort and quality fit, with the dresses still looking enviably chic.

Where are you based and how long have you been designing for
I am based in South West London. I have been designing since I was around 15 however more specifically creating Nina Rose I started designing the 2016 collection about 2 and a half years ago.

Can you give our readers a little more information about the prices for your dresses
They range from £2,800 – £9,250 for the most intricate dress – around 320 hours of me hand sewing the lace goes into this dress.

Where can the dresses be ordered/purchased
Brides to be can currently visit www.ninarose.co.uk to browse the debut collection and campaign. Through the website or by emailing [email protected] they can enquire about the styles they are interested in and can set up a private viewing/ fitting with me to try them. We also offer an at home fitting service where I can bring the dresses to them and they can try the dresses and have their fittings in the comfort of their own home if they’d prefer or if it is more convenient for them.

As we have only just launched we are also currently working on acquiring certain stockists in London and around the UK so hopefully before long you will be able to find us in boutiques as responses have been great thus far!
