Diary of a Boho Bride: Fay & Graeme (Entry 3) – Wedding Planning

Good Afternoon to you all!  As you read this I will by flying over the pond towards New York to spend 3 nights there with my sister, brother and mum, I cannot wait! It’s been on my bucket list to visit New York for ages, so I’m so pleased I can tick this amazing place from my list! I will be visiting lots of the sites and hope to share with you some great images and places to visit in a future post. I know a lot of my friends have got engaged in New York and some have honeymooned too, so I am hoping to share some tips with you all once I am back.

On with this afternoons post and today we are back with Fay and Graeme. Last time they were on the blog they talked all about The Hen Do and today they are back giving us a little update on the wedding planning so far and that all important dress purchase!

Fay and Graeme

I’ll pass you over to Fay….

We have had a very busy month with lots of fun wedding related things to do! Last week Graeme and I went to give our notice to marry at our local registry office. This process made it seem much more real, although they didn’t ask as many questions as I thought they might. In my head we were going to take
part in a Mr and Mrs style quiz to see whether we should be allowed to get married!

I have also chosen and bought my wedding dress, very exciting! After much deliberating I ended up going back to one of the first dresses I saw (just typical) at the White Closet in Didsbury. It was looking like it wasn’t meant to be as the first time I went back to see it, it had gone to the Liverpool store and the second time I was stuck in traffic for an hour. I was so determined to see it again I thought it must be the one. I really love my dress but I’m going to try to not look at pictures of it until I have my first dress fitting and I’m definitely staying clear of looking at any new dresses!

This month I was lucky enough to be Maid of Honour at my friend Leah’s gorgeous winter wedding. It was great to be part of the wedding party and a really good insight for what happens on the day. I hadn’t thought that much about having hair and make-up done, thinking the money might be better spent elsewhere; but I’m officially a convert.

Having someone else take care of how we all looked on the morning was such a relaxing and calming experience and made the day even more special. So if anyone can recommend any good Hair and Makeup artists who are free on 30th July let me know!

Love Fay x
