Today I am bringing you a beautiful backyard wedding, a wonderful day full of love, smiles, a stack of homespun projects and the most relaxed, chilled out bride and groom. Alexa and Wes were married on 18th July 2105 at the family home in Pennsylvania and they couldn’t have wished for a better location. The old barn makes a wonderful backdrop for the ceremony and the local woods and stream are just perfect for the portrait shots. A touching first look, mixed with some fabulous detail shots make this wedding stunning from beginning to end Thanks to Ashley Giffin for the images.
Wes & I met in 2012 when I moved in next door to him. We spent a lot of time together playing video games and eating pizza. Shortly after meeting, we knew there was something special between us and began dating. A month later I moved back home, which was 2 hours away from Wes. Despite the distance we decided to stay together and visited each other every weekend.
Just before Christmas, He finally decided to propose. The wedding planning began as soon as the ring was on my finger. We decided to have our wedding in my family’s home in our backyard. It was really special to me to have it in the place I grew up. We knew we wanted unique details, so we spent a lot of time thrifting old bottles, lace linens, doilies and vintage furniture. I also spent a lot of evenings sewing mismatched fabric into pennants that we strung all through the tents and trees. For centrepieces, we put wildflowers into all of the bottles and vases we thrifted. In lieu of a guestbook, we had an old typewriter set up for guests to leave us notes of advice, as well as a Polaroid camera booth. We spent the evening dancing under bistro lights with all of our friends and family. It was an absolutely perfect day.

Love the decor and really like the faded picture of the bride amongst nature.
Nice photography! Bridal dress is very sober, photography with green leafs create nice scenery.
