Happy Friday everyone, and how are you all? Are you enjoying the sunshine? How lovely...
This afternoon I have an amazing styled shoot for you set in a dark forest in the midst of the Cornish countryside. This dark forest wedding inspiration shoot, has something for the bride and groom looking for a move away from the wedding norm. With rustic decor, deep colours that bring in depth and an amazing setting, this shoot really does bring a sence of the unknown, mixed with beauty and passion. A massive thank you to Jo at Enchanted Bride for these wonderful images.
Date and Location of shoot
Idless Woods, Truro
What made you decide to do the shoot
I love darker moodier images, especially during the winter months when you have dramatic backdrops and just wanted to create something that was a bit different and creative from the usual traditional stuff you see everyday. Also on a personal note the winter months can be long and peoples moods seem darker, so I shoot darker stuff during the winter and you will notice by summer my stuff becomes more and more light and jolly
What was your inspiration behind the shoot
I think I saw a picture of a Russian lady holding a chicken in the forest…that was were it all started. Money is always an issue however and keeping shoots to practically free is the key. If I had an endless money pit my shoots would be more extreme and I wanted to get hold of some big eagles or birds of prey on this shoot. Maybe next time. Also all these shoots are organised in a couple weeks as I never have much free time.
What did you want to get out of the shoot and do you think you achieved this
I wanted a series of images for inspiring the more alternative and nature loving bride.
Are you planning on doing any more shoots
ALWAYS. My mind is never at rest, always thinking of the next one whilst I’m shooting one.
