Molly and Scott

How they met

Scott and I met in 2010 whilst I was working in a pub in Chester. I’m originally from Buckinghamshire and moved to Chester to go to law school.  I worked in a pub in the evenings and Scott appeared at some point during most shifts!  My first thoughts of Scott were that he was just so funny and easy to talk to.  We spent more and more time together and had a lot of fun. Its safe to say that this impacted on my studies at law school!  Now four years on, we live together in Chester with our cat, Tinkerbelle and we make each other laugh everyday.

The Proposal

Scott proposed on our third anniversary.  He had ordered the ring and received a call from the jewellers that day to say it was ready.  He picked up the ring and decided not to wait any longer.  He called a friend to meet up for an emergency pre-proposal beer.  I’m told he was very nervous!  I came home from work to find a bunch of flowers that he had bought me for our anniversary.  I walked over and picked them up. When I turned around, there he was on one knee!  What a shock!  Still with my coat on and bags in my hand I obviously said yes!  We immediately phoned all family and friends and went out to celebrate!  It was a wonderful day and great to have had that special moment in our own lovely home.

The Wedding

We are getting married on Saturday May 28th 2016 (but we are having the reception the following day).
We are incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to get married at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.  This is just beyond exciting for us to be able to get married in such an iconic British landmark, steeped in history.  Before St Paul’s became an option we had planned on having a tipi wedding, in the countryside and very relaxed.  We love to be outdoors didn’t want to sacrifice the tipi, laid back side of it but finding an area to have a tipi in Central London is easier said than done!

Following the ceremony we will have a drinks reception.  The venue is yet to be decided and its proving a little stressful trying to find somewhere close by that is casual and quirky like we want.  The following day we have booked a tipi at The Success Factory near Chester for the wedding breakfast/party.
We’ve spent a lot of time researching and trying to figure out if this idea will truly work.  Who knows if it will but we’re going for it anyway!  Next jobs on the list are to book in a photographer that can do both days and both locations and to find a suitable London venue for our drinks reception!
