Boho Pins: Modern Wedding Cakes

boho pins Welcome along to another edition of Boho Pins, where I delve into my pinterest board collection and choose one to share with you. If you’re planning a wedding then pinterest is the perfect visual planning tool. Fantastic for putting ideas together and keeping all your ideas organised! You can find me here pinterest.com/bohoweddings and I update my boards on a daily basis!

Today I am looking at one of my favorite subjects; Cake! Cake in my eyes is amazing no matter what format it comes in. The wedding cake used to be a very traditional part of the wedding, a fruit cake covered in marzipan and royal icing being the only option there was for a couple. These days though the world really is your oyster, from cup cakes, to cake pops, to naked cakes, cake tables, desert tables, cheese cakes, cheese towers, savory options, pies, it’s true that anything really does go. Today I want to look at one particular wedding cake; the modern wedding cake. The modern wedding cake has also become more and more popular, resembling a work of art rather than something to eat, mixing clean lines, bold colours, intricate detailing and geometric designs, with an element of fun. These cakes looks more like statues than wedding cakes. I just love how far cakes have come and I hope you like today’s selecton.  You can see my full Modern Wedding Cake pinterest board HERE.
