Saturday Cinema: Corina and Brett’s Vintage Wedding shot in Super 8 by First Kiss Films

Its back to the normal blogging scedual now (I promise no more personal posts for a while) after last weeks anniversary post and back with Saturday Cinema. Today I am actually working at a wedding in Matlock, I’m hoping the rain stays away, but luckily most of it is indoors, so hopefully the wedding party will all be OK either way.

Todays wedding was sent into me by a regular on the Blog, Bridget Redmond from First Kiss Films, and it’s a gorgeous super 8 film. The lovely couple are Corina and Brett who were married on 30th December 30 at St. Mary’s Church and The Gladstone Hotel.

Bridget tells us a bit more about the day
‘Corina & Brett chose to break holiday tradition and marry on a day between Christmas and New Years Eve. They did, however, want their wedding film to be “extra vintagey” so we left our 16mm cameras at home this time and filmed everything on super 8mm. The classic camera was a fitting choice for a ceremony in a gothic church, followed by a streetcar ride to their reception at a restored Victorian hotel.
Both talented writers, Corina & Brett met back in school while studying journalism at Carleton University. After a few years of dating and traveling the globe, Brett surprised Corina while they were in New York City by proposing with an antique 1909 Edwardian engagement ring. It was a romantic touch for what’s proven to be a good ol’ fashioned love story.’

I asked Bridget what her favourite part fo the wedding was ‘I adored the invites, the streetcar ride to the reception, and the vintage vibe in every detail’
