Diary of Boho Bride – Jessica and Scott, Entry 4: Less than two weeks to go!!

Today it’s the final entry from Boho Bride Jessica as in 11 days she will be married! As I read the entry she sent me I have to admit I did shed a tear! Jessica has been a joy to work with, and I will miss her a great deal.
She is marrying Scott on 10th June at Amante Beach Bar in Ibiza! and it just brings back so many amazing memories of when I got married in Ibiza 3 years ago.

So with Jessica’s final Blog post for us she talks about her hen do, her legal wedding in the UK and how she is feeling about soon becoming a wife!

Here’s Jessica…………

For the past week or so I’ve been waking up at 5am, too excited to sleep! My wedding is finally in sight! I have a permanent smile on my face and although I want it to be my wedding day, at the same time I don’t want this feeling to end.

Since I last wrote the blog about the guest list, I’ve been pretty busy. I started with the table/seating plan, which took about 20 drafts to finally get right, even though there’s now only 42 guests! I have no idea how people have big weddings, it must take them forever!
With the help of Natasha, the stationary expert, we came up a beautiful table plan, menus, place-cards and order of ceremony cards. I decided to present the table plan in the formal way, on one piece of card against an easel, and I will put each place-card in specifically designed shells on the tables. I also decided to tie the order of ceremony cards to fans with ribbon, which I will place on the chairs for the ceremony.

Along with sorting out the finer points of my wedding, I’ve also had not one, but two hen parties! Well, the second one was more like a night out in my honour and it lacked the bride sash/willy straws silliness of the first one, but both were hilarious, raucous nights out and probably the last girlie nights I’m going to be allowed on without Scott kicking up a fuss!

And my nights as a single girl have officially come to an end because last Saturday Scott and I had our legal ceremony, so we are now MARRIED!!!! We were trying to keep it quiet as we didn’t want to take the emphasis off the ‘real’ wedding in Ibiza, especially as our guests have all made such an effort to get to Ibiza to see us get married (again). I had been playing it down, saying we were just going to run in and out of the registry office, sign whatever we needed to sign and then forget about the whole thing till June 10th, although when it came down to it, it was actually quite an emotional day.

I only invited a handful of people, our parents, a couple of my best friends and some friends who couldn’t make the wedding in Ibiza. One of the latter was a friend who I hadn’t seen in seven years as she’s currently living in Australia and hadn’t been back in all that time. As it was such an intimate group, I think this made it all the more emotional for Scott and I and during the ceremony we couldn’t stop grinning at each other, so happy to be getting married.
We were so lucky with the weather, it was 25 degrees and sunny and after leaving the registry office, we had some celebratory drinks in the sun and then all had dinner together. Because we had played it down so much I really wasn’t expecting such a perfect, gorgeous day. Previously I had seen the legal wedding as a sort of ‘conflict of interest’ but now I have realised that I am lucky enough to have two weddings; in less than two weeks I can do this all over again, but on a much bigger scale! Getting married is such an important milestone in anyone’s life and it seems a shame to only celebrate this for one day only!

So I leave for Ibiza on Monday and get married the following Sunday. I am beyond excited and my head is buzzing with all the final things I have to do before I go….hair/waxing/pick up dress/nails/packing/more packing….the life of a bride-to-be! It’s definitely easier to be the Groom!

A MASSIVE Good Luck and congratulations to Jessica and Scott, I will be chatting with Jessica tonight to go over some final plans, then putting all the finishing touches and organisation to her day early next week. It is going to be an amazing day, and they are going to have such a fabulous time in Ibiza! I can’t wait to share the photos with you all!

Big Boho Love
