I have a first for the Boho Blog today, as I am featuring a 2 part post for you……Part 1 is a hen do (another first for the blog) while Part 2 is the pre wedding shoot. The Photos were sent to me by Lucy at My Heart Skipped and I fell in love with her photography as soon as I saw these 2 shoots! Her works is so crisp and clear, with great composition, I just love her style!
The couple are Phil and Rebecca who got married in Sydney, Rebecca is from the UK and Phil is from Australia, they both currently live in Brisbane.
How they met
Rebecca says ‘Iaccepted a job in Brisbane after being made redundant from my role in the UK, and we met at work. I was in LA on business and Phil managed to engineer a trip over there too, so our first date was actually in Santa Monica – we joke that he was able to claim our first date as expenses! We have been together for three years.
The Hen Party
Bec’s hen party took place just a few days before the wedding so she could share the day with friends and family who’d flown in from across the world. Her celebrations began with bubbly and a make up lesson from Tiffany at Benefit Boutique in Paddington. Bec won the session as a prize in a competition run by The Lane (Australian online wedding directory). The lesson was great fun and Bec, her mum and her best girlfriends were in fits of giggles for the whole morning.
A couple of hours later and looking very glamorous, the girls blindfolded Bec to take her to a secret location and the next part of her celebrations, even the taxi driver was in on it and teased Bec about where we were heading to!
The secret location was the Blu Bar on the 36th floor of Sydney’s Shangri-La Hotel with AMAZING views over the harbour. Bec was very bemused and still blindfolded when she arrived at the bar and her face was an absolute picture when the blindfold came off and all was revealed! Bec was joined by more of her girlfriends who’d all organised a organised a cocktail making afternoon with Ron the mixologist. He was brilliant and guided everyone through making their own cocktails, from old favourites through to more exotic concoctions. Each person got to make one and they were all were very eagerly sampled by everyone else! The whole day was great fun and the perfect way for all of Bec’s friends and family from around the world to get to know each other before the big day!
Pop back later for Part 2 – The pre wedding shoot
