Schools out: How to do bridal make-up – Week 3 ‘Cheeks’

So it’s week 3 the ‘How to do Bridal Make up guide’ with my resident makeup expert Catherine Hughes from Ivy Clara make up styling.

This week we have Cheeks!

Get cheeky
First, use a small angled blusher brush to sweep a rose pink or fresh peach blusher from the apples of your cheeks up towards your hairline. This will create a natural flush of colour to brighten up your face. My favorites are Dainty by Mac which is a pink toned blusher and for a peachy hue, Papa don’t Peach’ by Too Faced.

Contouring the face with makeup is a clever way to make the face appear slimmer or to help achieve cheek bones to die for! Firstly, to make the hollows of your cheek look deeper, sweep a sheer bronzer directly under the blush. If you press a finger into the hollow directly under the cheek bone, this is the line along which you should add the bronzer. Sucking your cheeks in makes it much easier to see the hollows enabling you to apply bronzer in the center of the area that’s sucked in. ‘10’ by Benefit contains a light natural blusher and a highlighter in one. It is one of my favorites and perfect for contouring.

Apply a highlighter along the tops of your cheekbones up towards the temple area and finally, with a clean brush, blend the edges of the different colours to create a flawless finish.
