Featured Venue: Whitley Hall in Grenoside, Sheffield

A few weeks ago I went over to have a look at one of the most well known and most beautiful wedding venues in Sheffield, Whitley Hall.
Following the 1994 Marriage Act, Whitley Hall became the first venue in the area to be approved for Civil Marriage Ceremonies, which means you can have you ceremony and reception all in one place.

Whitley Hall is a spectacular venue, tucked away in the beautiful countryside of South Yorkshire. The Tudor architecture works perfectly with contemporary design giving you the opportunity to revel in both a 16th century ivy-clad mansion and the splendor of 21st century luxury.

The Hall is split into 2 sections with the newly added Parker Wing which gives bride and grooms the unique choice of 2 wedding venues, within one building! Choose from the old style 16th century building, or the more modern contemporary side.

The hotel boasts 31 en-suite double bedrooms, all individually decorated to reflect the unique character of the building, again some modern and some more traditional . Perfect for those out of town guests to stay on your wedding day, Or and ideal opportunity to take full advantage of one of the 4 poster beds for your wedding night.

The Hotel has several rooms to choose from to hold your Civil Ceremony and then onto your reception:

The Whitley Suite
This has access to the garden and can accommodate up to a maximum of 100 guests for both the daytime and the evening reception. Providing a cosy atmosphere for your civil ceremony.

The Parker Room
This room dates back to 1584 and is also licensed for civil ceremonies, providing a traditional and elegant setting for a day time reception of 60 guests and 100 for the evening.

The Picture RoomThis room is full of character with wood paneling, oil paintings and an original ceiling commissioned by Mary Queen of Scots. It is ideal for a small reception of 12 people, and is also licensed for civil ceremonies.

The Wordsworth Room
On the First floor overlooking the gardens and provides an excellent setting for parties of up to 16 guests or 20 guests sat at 2 tables.

Total use of the hotel
If your numbers over run the numbers stated for both the Whitley Suite and the Parker Room together then there is always the option of hiring the whole hotel.

Grounds of Whitley Hall also offer some amazing photo opportunities for your big day, with choices of the main garden, courtyard or lake to choose from, the grounds even have their own resident peacocks that love having their pictures taken!

Aswell as a wonderful venue, with spacious rooms, superb grounds and wonderful staff. Whitley Hall also has amazing food, so whatever your tastes, be they exotic, vegetarian or traditional the restaurant is renowned for a variety of menus designed to appeal to all, giving you a huge amount of choice when choosing your wedding breakfast. They also hold an internationally stocked wine cellar providing a beautiful accompaniment to all palates and budgets.

Over all Whitley hall offers a wide amount of variety and allows a bride and groom to celebrate their day in style, tradition and opulence. You will be spoilt for choice while surrounded by history.
So choose from The Whitley Suite or The Parker Suite, and then set a date.

I’ve booked the Parker Suite this year for my wedding next year and this blog was the reason I visited the venue, so thank you very much :-) The photos do show the venue in its true light as well.
