Stephanie and Alex’s Elegant ‘Country Boho’ Wedding in Cyprus by Karina Leonenko Photography

Today I have a real visual treat for you with this stunning wedding, courtesy of Karina Leonenko photography. Stephanie and Alex chose to get married in Cyprus with a mammoth wedding of 300 guest. They created a totally gorgeous wedding, filled with ‘Country Boho’ decoration all finished off with a very glam elegant finish. From the amazing ceremony arch filled with beautiful flowers, to the breathtaking outdoor reception, this wedding has style written all over it. As for Stephanie’s overall look, WOW! Doesn’t she look amazing! Her Julie Vino is stunning, a real show stopper of a dress. What a beautiful couple, full of love and so much happiness.

The best party we’ve ever been to, full of love and positive energy.

Stephanie and Alex  were married on 2nd June 2018 at Ayia Paraskevi church in Germasoyia, with the reception at the garden next to it and the party at Dafermou winery in Lefkara village in Cyprus. ‘It is a cute church with a very nice garden next to it for the reception, which would make it very convenient for our guests. As for the party, the winery is a place we’ve fallen in love with, since it has an amazing view, it’s very atmospheric and romantic and matched completely with the theme that we were planning to have. We had around 300 guests and it took 1 year to plan.’

How they met
We met through mutual friends, and we’ve been together for 7 years.

The proposal
We were in Athens for my birthday, and my husband insisted on climbing the Lycabettus hill to see the view. It was September so it was lightly raining but we kept on going up the hill. Once we got on the highest spot, he proposed!

How did you allocate your budget?
We made a priority list, for example which things we thought that were more important for us- so we had that as a guideline in order to check where we wanted to spend more money and where we needed to do some cut offs.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
Decoration, photographer, videographer and wedding dress. We tried to save from the rest!

How did you choose your photographer?
We were very picky with our photographer. It needed to be someone who is not just a person who has lots of cameras and lenses, but someone who is fine art oriented, has a strong sense of detail, cool and positive personality and most of all to love what he/she does. We are so happy that we’ve found the perfect one.

The dress
My dress was by Julie Vino. I was only wearing earrings which where not by a designer. My shoes where Badgley Mischka.

The suit and bridesmaids
The groom’s suit was Giorgio Armani. We didn’t have bridesmaids.

Theme or colour scheme
We wanted a country-boho decoration with lots of greenery, succulents and less flowers in pastel colour.

Flowers
Mostly greenery, small roses in pastel colours, and succulents.

Decoration
We had a very impressive wooden arch during the ceremony decorated with lots of greenery and flowers which was then moved over to our wedding table. On the tables at the party we had lots of candles, succulents and flower bouquets and also two big baskets full of wild greenery and roses on the sides of the couple’s table.

Food
We had a buffet with refreshing salads, pasta, sea-bass, pork, chicken and veggies. We wanted to please all tastes and dietary preferences.

Wedding cake
The wedding cake was a 2-tier naked chocolate brownie- cream cheese cake, decorated with succulents and wildflowers.

Who supplied the stationery?
Our graphic designer was Styliana Leonida and we had everything printed from her family business- ‘Pyrsos prints’

Personal touches
The invitation was mostly our design, we used twine to wrap it and attach a little card with the timeline of the day and a map of the venue, since we didn’t want to use envelopes.

Advice for other couples
Enjoy the process, hire positive and energetic people, smile, look at every single detail on that day because it only happens once and it ends so so fast!!

Biggest surprise
Everything went as planned, no surprises either bad or good!! Everyone looked happy so that was completely enough for us.
