Last weekend I traveled down to Birmingham for the weekend to exhibit at the Designer Vinatge Bridal Show . I had been invited along with 4 of my other blogging friends Rock n Roll Bride , Love my Dress , Beyond Beyond and OMG I’m Getting Married to exhibit in a meet the bloggers feature.
As it was the first time I had exhibited a a blogger and not as a planner and I have to admit I was pretty nervous. I needn’t have been though because as soon as I got there that I realised that everyone involved in the show was completely lovely!
I made lots of great friends, met some amazingly talented suppliers, as well as meeting some of you, my lovely readers, which at times was a bit overwhelming with comments like ‘I Love your Blog’ which is always fabulous to hear!
I will be featuring a lot of those suppliers in upcoming posts, but today I just wanted to share with you a few pictures I took of my stand for those of you who coldn’t make it down, as well as give a few shout outs to the people who made it possible!
As a blogger it’s pretty hard to figure out how to exhibit, I’m not selling anything after all, so after a chat with my friend Shelly from Toast of Leeds, I decided I would go for something quirky and try and replicate how I see the blog, while tacking inspiration from ideas that I may have already featured on the blog.
I decided that my ‘Theme’ was rustic retro, with colours of cream, brown and green. I incorporated photos from some of the real weddings I had featured on the blog (thanks to all the photographers who let me use their photos) as well as mixing in some of my favorite inspiration boards!
What I found surprising was that people were tacking pictures of the stand which was a total surprise! one girl even wanted to use an idea for her art project! I really enjoyed putting it together and playing with all the props that Jennie had lent me!
And while I was there I was lucky enough to have my photo taken with the gorgeous and totally amazing (and possibly the nicest person in the world) Emma Case. after being asked to do a very quick bit of modeling for the Couture Company and Ava Styling (and it rally was quick…like 5 minutes quick!) Photos to follow soon, but here’s a quick sneak peak
So THANK YOU…thank you to everyone who came and said hello at the show, thank you to all the lovely suppliers I met, thank you to all the lovely friends I made and thank you to the organises of the show for putting on a fabulous event! A brilliant group of wedding peeps all in one room, all full of adoration and support for each other!
I can’t wait for the next one!
