Carlota and Jorge’s Elegant Rustic Chic Spanish Wedding by Alicia Nacenta Photography

I don’t know about you, but it’s blooming freezing here in Sheffield, Winter is definitely on its way! To warm you up I am jetting you off to sunny Spain for this super stylish, rustic chic wedding of Carlota and Jorge. Even though they chose the end of October for their wedding, the sun shone and it was a super warm and fun-filled day. They opted for an elegant day filled with lavish touches like the beautiful venue and the delicious food. The whole day was super stylish and full of so much love, all captured beautifully by Alicia Nacenta Photography.

Really emotive , with all the people we love. It was very fun, we did not stop dancing until the end and I will always remember it as one of the happiest days of our life.

Carlota and Jorge  were married on 29th October, the ceremony was held at Otero de Herreros, a little town in Segovia (Spain) with the reception at Finca Las Margas en Madrona, little town in Segovia (Spain). ‘The church, a small hermitage in the middle of the forest was incredibly charming. The venue has beautiful views, in the middle of the field, we loved the decoration and we could stay to sleep over both of us and our families. We had 190 guests, in regards to planning we had a year in total but the big part was done in the last 5 months.’

How they met
We met 15 years ago at the bar where a friend of mine worked, since then we have been together.

The proposal
Jorge asked me to get married the day I celebrated my 31st birthday. He cheated me with the birthday present, putting the engagement ring in a shoe box. It was beautiful, I did not expect it!

How did you allocate your budget?
The budget was made on the way … we did not have a set amount, so we were adapting the budget to what we were really seeing that we wanted.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We were lucky to be able to do the wedding we wanted, without giving up anything that really made us happy. Of course, if we could have done a 3 day wedding, it would have been amazing, but the budget had its limits!

How did you choose your photographer?
I searched for many photographers online, Instagram, friends, but none of them really convinced me, until I found Alicia (Alicia Nacenta Photography) in a wedding post on the internet. Then I met her in person, and I had no doubt, it was her!

The dress
The dress was made by Laura Monge Atelier. The accessories such as shoes (from uterqüe) , I customized them with some flower appliqués Arbolande made me, as well as the crown of flowers preserved from the hair and the belt. The ring and the earrings were from my family.

The suit
Jorge´s suit was from Scalpers

Flowers
The flowers of the church, like my bouquet and the flowers of the tables and still lifes of the venue were all very rustic flowers … we were in the field, so the flowers should be rustic.

Decoration
Many flowers at the entrance of the church, candles on the altar, and on the venue more flowers and fair lights that crossed the courtyard where we made the party. There was also a chill out area with sofas to sit on, that was lovely.

Food
We had a cocktail of an hour and a half, where we ate everything … what I remember the most was the ceviche! In the cocktail we put cocktails and champagne bars. To eat we had boletus canelon, truffle and foie gras and sirloin steak. For dessert we ate apple pie for men and chocolate cake for women.

Entertainment
Flamenco band for the beginning of the open bar.  During the open bar we had a duet of dj and singer

Personal touches
I designed the invitation, I also prepared boxes with a detail for the guests (we made a donation to the association against cancer, and the association gave us colorful bracelets, green for men and pink for women), we also prepare thank-you notes for all the guests. And for the bridal dance we prepare a small choreography, instead of dancing the typical valls.

Special moments
One of the most special moments was the trip to the church, with my father, and the entrance to the church, it was very special … I could not help but cry as soon as I set foot in the church. The moment of the entrance to the lunch area was also great, the people cheering us waving napkins … it was super fun!

Advice for other couples
My advice to any couple who is going to get married is that they enjoy it very much! Do not be overwhelmed because everything has to be perfect, the important thing is to enjoy the day and let yourself be loved by all the people who accompany you on this special day.

Biggest surprise
It was a surprise the beautiful day we had … being October 29th in Segovia there were chances that we did not have a good day and yet it was a beautiful day.
