Happy Wednesday everyone, we are at the half point of the week, well done! Today I have the gorgeous wedding of Francesca and Anthony who held this super fun Disney inspired wedding in June of this year. As a Disney mad couple it seemed only right that Anthony proposed to Francesca on a trip to the Magic Kingdom in Florida. With this as the starting point in their engagement they decided to incorporate their love of Disney into their wedding. Mix in a festival them, outdoor ceremony and a bright and cheerful orange tie dye colour scheme, and you have this full of fun wedding, captured by RomyLawrence Photography.

Everything we always dreamed off. Magical.

Francesca and Anthony were married on 30th June 2018 at Tree Cathedral in Milton Keynes. ‘We always wanted an outdoor/rustic/festival type wedding. We found the venue in a wedding magazine hosting a wedding festival. As we had family in the area we went to visit and fell in love with the avenue of trees and cloisters. We had 110 guests, We began planning 2 and a half years ago, brainstorming ideas and creating mood boards. Began solidifying plans 18 months prior to the date.’

How they met
We met through a mutual friend when we were teenagers at an 18^th birthday party. We have been together ever since the summer of 2010, 8 years.

The proposal
We were away on a family holiday in Orlando Florida. My family is Disney obsessed so obviously we were spending a couple of days at the Disney parks. Magic Kingdom has always been my favourite so considering we were away for my birthday, I decided to spend my day there. We were taking pictures in front of the castle when Anthony asked for a couple shot. That’s when he dropped to his knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was captured all on film by my family and we were cheered on by onlookers at the foot of the castle.

How did you allocate your budget?
As we were also planning to buy our first home within the year. We always knew budget would be tight. So we researched a LOT, found where we could save money and decided where we wouldn’t scrimp.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
Being able to capture the day and look back in years to come was the most important thing for us so our videographer and photographer were our biggest outgoing and worth every penny. We saved on decorations with a lot of DIY projects and by making smart choices having researched other vendors.

How did you choose your photographer?
We researched photographers in the local area and Gemma happened to come up in the search. Looking at her Instagram and website we fell in love with her candid photos and the way she is able to capture the light, colour & atmosphere making a beautiful image.

Dress

The suit and bridesmaids
The suit was a bargain purchase in Moss Bros. in Swindon Designer Outlet. The bow tie and pocket square were Mrs Bow Tie. The bridesmaids were ASOS wedding shop. The flower girls and pageboy were Monsoon also in Swindon Designer Outlet

Theme or colour scheme
Our theme was rustic, outdoors, festival, Disney, tie dye infusion. Everything that was us. The colour scheme was orange because we wanted a lovely summery colour that isn’t overdone.

Flowers
I had a hand tied bouquet that included roses, dahlias, peonies and berried eucalyptus. I wanted a more wildflower look.

Decoration
So our friends and family spent 3 years saving over 2000 mason jars for us. Everything was covered with these jars with candles in. We had them lining the avenue of trees, hanging in the cloisters and decorating the tables. Everything was simple and unique. Our table decorations were tie dyed linen napkins, wooden log stumps, cathedral candles and Disney confetti. A welcome easel draped with foliage. Flower petals lining the ailse. The most beautiful archway that my dad hand carved. The archway had the Magic Kingdom castle carved into the centre and Disney scenes burnt into the wood. This was draped with cream chiffon and hanging flowers. Looking amazing on the day. The marquee was strung up with handmade Tangled themed bunting, floral letters and topped off with a popcorn stand made by a family friend.

Food
We had a BBQ buffet as our main meal as everyone loves a BBQ. We didn’t have to worry about choosing 110 guests a set menu. Our pudding rocked up as an ice cream van followed by Subway catering our evening food.

Wedding cake
All made by Anthony’s mum, Caroline. Lemon drizzle and raspberry & white chocolate.

Entertainment
We had a two piece band 2Plo who were great. Topped off by everyone’s favourite part of the evening, a silent Disco. The rest of the music we put together ourselves. We broke off in the evening for a sparkler send off through the candle lit avenue of trees.

Who supplied the stationery?
I handmade all our save the dates and invitations. I used a stamp custom made by Paperlux in Canada and had one of our engagement photos printed by VistaPrint.

Personal touches
Mostly all of it was personal and made by Anthony and I. This included the welcome sign, hanging jars, hanging flowers, bunting, tie dyed napkins and table runners, table plan, floral letters, Disney confetti, instagram post sign, Disney book button holes, tree stump post box & DIY photo booth.

Special moments
Is it too cliché to say the whole day? But seeing 110 of your closest family and friends follow the leader through a candle lit avenue of trees was insane.

Advice for other couples
Savour every moment as it goes far too quickly. The things you worry about leading up to the day no one will even notice. Like our missing flower girl baskets, they really weren’t the worst thing in the world

Biggest surprise of the day
The overwhelming love received from everyone. And for our guests their biggest surprise was our choreographed first dance.
