Angela and Anthony’s Elegant Peach and Gold Outdoor Canadian Wedding by Todor Wedding Co.

TGIF! Yes I am SO happy it’s Friday as I go on holiday tomorrow! Nik, Dexter and I are off to Cornwall for the week, tying in a trip to see my mum with a few days exploring and going out on day trips. I’m really hoping the weather stays nice for us and we get to enjoy a few last rays of late summer sunshine. The blog will still be running while I’m away, as Laura will be making sure that everything runs smoothly in my absence.
Getting back to today, we have this lovely outdoor Canadian wedding for you, courtesy of Todor Wedding Co. It’s the wedding of Angela and Anthony who had a whopping 220 guests, They wanted a light, bright venue and really went to town on the flowers and pretty personal touches. With a gorgeous colour scheme of peach and gold, this wedding has a accents fo rustic, with a mix of classic peach and gold.

Just a wonderful celebration. Honestly, no words could describe just how perfect that day truly was.

Angela and Anthony were married on the 10th June 2017 in a ceremony at Sprucewood shores estate Winery in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada, followed by a reception at the Caboto Club Of Windsor. ‘When we first got engaged we had both said we would love to have a lot of natural lighting. The wineries in our area are stunning but Sprucewood itself just stands out. By the end of it all we had about 220 guests. We had been engaged for just shy of 3 years before we had tied the knot, but officially planning for about 1.5-2 years.’

How they met
Anthony, and I met through mutual friends in high school. Through a series of very awkward and hilarious events we eventually started dating. 6 Years later we finally got married and could not be happier.

The Proposal
The proposal was actually in Portugal. We spent a month there visiting his family and vacationing. There was a mountain with a palace that belonged to one of the previous kings of Portugal years ago. At the base of this mountain was a garden with a pond and a castle tower in the center. In front of the pond Anthony had his mom pretend to take a picture of us while actually recording him get down on one knee and propose. It was totally unexpected and I loved it.

How did you allocate your budget?
When we decided to sit down and work on the budget we discussed what would be most important to the both of us. Photography and food rated highest on the list so that’s where we focused everything else around.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We splurged on the flowers mostly. Originally, we were going to keep it simple but in the end putting more flowers everywhere was totally worth it. But we saved greatly on quite a bit of the décor. A lot of things I made myself with the help of good ol’ pinterest.

Why did you choose your photographer?
We stumbled upon David’s work due to unforeseen circumstances and he came highly regarded by some friends of ours so we decided to seek him out. We really liked his style and the work he provided was nothing short of amazing.

The Dress
By dress was by Mon Cheri Bridals from the enchanted collection. I purchased it from It’s your Day Bridal in Lasalle. I didn’t have a lot of accessories since the dress spoke for itself. The only jewellery I wore, other than the rings, were a simple pair of earrings purchased from Pandora. These were a wedding gift for me to wear from my then soon-to-be husband.

The Suit and Bridesmaids
All of the men’s suits were Vera Wang rented from Moores of Canada. The mismatched bowties were all from Bows-N-Ties. The girls dresses were all purchased from David’s Bridal.

Theme or Colour Scheme
The colours were peach and gold. And as per the request of Anthony there was some blue tied into the flowers. The theme itself I would classify as more of an elegant woodland vibe but by the end of it all I think we had a bit of everything.

Flowers
The flowers were probably my favourite part. We had bouquets and décor full of greens, David Austin roses, Wax flower, and ranunculus. At the reception we had laurels of greens placed around the centrepieces. We also had the flowers that decorated the arbor of the ceremony moved to the head table of the reception.

Decoration
All of our linens were ivory with peach accents. The centrepieces were a mixture of tall hurricane vases with gold branches, white lanterns and hurricane vases with a white floating candle. Surrounding them were a laurel of fresh greenery as well as some spray painted gold deer. The head table has an accent wall of linen leaves. And of course we added some sparkle with sequin table cloths to some special tables.

Food
There was penne, roasted chicken and potatoes, sliced beef with mushrooms, salad, and bruschetta. There was a midnight table with shrimp, a roasted pig, and pizza. There was also a dessert table of assorted treats.

Wedding Cake
The wedding cake was a beautiful but simple 3-tiered cake decorated with fresh green laurels and blooms. The topper was a golden cutout of the words “Mr. and Mrs.”

Entertainment
We had a Dj as entertainment throughout the night who played a mixture of oldies, pop music and even threw in a few Portuguese songs for some of Anthony’s family.

Stationery
The stationary was purchased from an etsy store called iwedfred. We personalized them and then used vistaprint in order to save a few bucks on it all.

Personal Touches
There were quite a few small décor things I did myself. I made the card box using a mailbox and spray painting it a pastel pink. Then adding some gold lace to top it off. Alongside the centrepieces there were small deer figures, which I had spray painted gold. There were a few wood signs I had made for both the ceremony and at the head table. As well as monogram R’s which I had painted gold and decorated with flowers that went at either side of the head table.

Special Moments or Highlights
Both Anthony and I agreed that one of our favourite parts was the fact that neither of us were nervous. Also Anthony’s speech. He had nothing written down or prepared and completely made it up on the spot. But if you knew Anthony you knew that whatever came out of his mouth would be hilarious. To quote him “I’ve already got everything I need. I’ve won. I could sell lemonade on a corner for the rest of my life and it wouldn’t matter”. Then to top it all off he had to end the speech with a quote from DJ Khaled that came out so smooth my dad didn’t know it was by a rapper. Just pure Gold.

Advice for Other Couples
Enjoy being engaged. Honestly, every moment you see your fiancé doesn’t need to be about the wedding. Take the opportunities to put the planning aside and enjoy the leg of your journey that you are presently on. Also, leave yourself extra time to get things done on the wedding day. Luckily, I am very good at time management and everything ran it’s course exactly when it needed to but if I had not set out specific times I feel like it would have been a lot more stressful.

Biggest Surprise
The biggest surprise would be how calm both Anthony and I were. Right after our first look we had some time to talk and both of us agreed there were no nerves just pure happiness. The biggest surprise would be how right it all felt.
