More Information about the stunning 2017 Collection

For 2017, Charlie Brear – the eponymous British label – presents a fashion-led bridal collection inspired by a modern-take on cocktail wear. Designed and made in the UK, luxe fluid fabrics and relaxed silhouettes create a carefree mood that’s indicative of the brand’s fresh and contemporary approach to bridalwear.
Off-the-shoulder sleeves, front-split skirts, low sexy backs and cut-outs give the collection a directional feel, whilst clever design details such as uneven pleating and draping and modern bonded seams add interest. Co-ords – a Charlie Brear signature – continue to play a pivotal role. In addition to traditional sandwashed silks, crepe de chine silks and fine grain satins; new innovative fabrics include body form stretch lace and crepe, and architectural lace. Prices range from £1,200 – £2,800

Charlie Brear, Founder and Creative Director, says; “Whilst a strong evening vibe runs throughout, the collection also takes inspiration from Latin American culture and its many nuances – including Miami’s design-led architecture with its familiar pastels and geometric lines, and the captivating beauty of feminist icon and portrait artist Frida Kahlo. The collection will appeal to brides seeking out a modern, effortless wedding-day style that maintains elements of timeless tradition. My favourite looks this season include the long sleeve fitted stretch lace dress with bonded seam detail, the stretch crepe column dress with double crossover straps, and the slipper satin panelled dress with cut out neckline.”

Form fitting styles are interspersed with more voluminous gowns including the sandwashed silk dress with front split, gathered tulle and lace neckline frill, the silk crepe de chine strappy empire line dress with fitted bodice and full circle skirt and the strapless dress with full skirt in weightless chiffon.
The collection continues to expand its wide range of versatile Additions, which work perfectly as co-ords or layered to transform a look throughout day and night. Standout pieces for 2017 include the Chantilly lace high neck overdress with high fishtail skirt, the off-the-shoulder cropped lace cape and the corded lace jacket with scallop-edged v-neck and button detailing – all of which can also be worn after the wedding as ready to wear.
Charlie Brear, Founder and Creative Director, continues; “Starting with a simple crepe, satin or chiffon dress and layering everything from geometric lace overskirts and sheer overdresses, brides can build a bespoke look that’s in keeping with their personal style.”

The collection is available from September 2016 at www.charliebrear.com.

More Information about Charlie Brear

Charlie Brear had been working as a stylist for 10 years when, inspired by a bridal story she was commissioned to shoot, was spurred on to design her first capsule collection of made to order gowns. Next she produced her first full bridal collection, shortly before launching Additions – a range of unique styling pieces to complement the made to order line. Starting with a simple crepe, satin or chiffon dress and layering everything from sequined overdresses and tiered skirts to hand beaded pieces, belts, sashes and sleeves – a bespoke look can be effortlessly customized to create a unique bridal look.
In 2013, Charlie launched her debut mainline fashion ready-to-wear collection, which shares the same strong contemporary and feminine aesthetic as the brand’s bridal offering. Today, Charlie Brear is stocked in over 50 boutiques worldwide and also retails from its central London Flagship.
The Charlie Brear aesthetic is fashion-led, clean and contemporary with a feminine edge, and appeals to modern brides with a confident and unique sense of style. Charlie Brear collections are designed and produced entirely in the UK, using a diverse range of hand selected fabrics and trims.
