When it comes to honeymoon planning I know my thoughts go immediately to somewhere exotic and hot but you can get some equally amazing places if not better right here in the UK. Whether you’re looking for the perfect minimoon or honeymoon, there are so many options here in the UK – especially when the weather is kind to us in the summer. With such a beautiful island to call our own, what better way to appreciate it than spending your honeymoon right here in gorgeous Great Britain? Here are 6 fantastic ideas for a UK honeymoon in the summer sun!

Canal Boat Holiday

Canal boats really are the best way to explore the UK’s beautiful waterways; the peace and quiet plus the endless nature surrounding your boat will add to the romance of your trip. With no-one else around, narrowboats are a great place to spend your honeymoon. And you’ll be spoilt for choice with location. Explore the canals of Scotland, the Norfolk Broads, the River Thames, the Fenland Waterways in Cambridgeshire, the River Thames, the canals of Wales and more! Most modern canal boats are fitted with a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and a dining / seating area so you can relax in a home away from home with all the creature comforts.

Beach House in Cornwall

If you want a beach experience without having to fly, Cornwall is a must-visit destination in the UK. It’s renowned for its variety and quality of beaches and some of the most beautiful beach locations include Whitsand Bay (very popular with honeymooners), Godrevy Beach (stunning and rugged nature), Praa Sands Beach (great for surfers), and Penhale Sands (a great seaside resort feel with shops, cafes and restaurants).
