Diary of a Boho Bride: Fay & Graeme (Entry 5) – The 6 Months To Go To Do List

Good Afternoon to you all and a big welcome to the start of the weekend.  We are back today with one of my favourite features, A diary of a Boho bride.  I love reading about all the Wedding Planning that our brides have been doing so far.

Today its the turn of Fay and Graeme, as we welcome them back to the blog. Last time they chatted all about Marquee and Tipi Weddings and today it’s all about the to do list.

With less than 6 months to go, we are now making to-do lists of to-do lists! Last week we visited our venue, the beautiful Saltmarshe Hall, for the first time in almost a year. They had a wedding fayre and it was great to see how the hall could look on our big day. We also have a better idea of how the day will run so it was helpful to think about the logistics and timings of the day.

One of the biggest and scariest jobs we have done since Christmas is order our wedding invitations – a
task I honestly thought would never get done! Having trawled the internet for a water colour/ombré style of wedding stationery, I stumbled across ‘Something Kinda Cute’ who have some absolutely gorgeous designs and offer a bespoke service too. The design that caught my eye turned out to have been made for a styled shoot and was only partially complete. Shell, the designer, kindly offered to finish the design for me and I am delighted with it! We have just Okayed the proofs and are eagerly awaiting the finished product.

A spontaneous 24 hour round-trip in the snow to Scotland enabled us to secure the kilts for Graeme and the groomsmen. I’m not going to lie; as an English girl, the kilts have been at the forefront of my mind as it’s just not something I’m used to! Kilts are incredibly expensive to buy so we have always said we would hire them, and I did worry this would limit our choice. Our wedding is not really a black tie affair so I was so happy to see such a lovely selection of kilts. MacGregor and MacDuff in Glasgow were fantastic, even letting us keep the kilts for a longer period, as they will be travelling all the way to Yorkshire. We were lucky to be one of the first to order a new design, which looked so nice in the window and I was surprised to discover it was a hire item.

I am currently on the hunt for Bridal accessories and shoes so if anyone has any good recommendations please let me know! I’m finding it really hard to find the Boho style of accessories that I really want.
