It’s Wednesday already. How can that be? I am excited because tomorrow night I get to go out and party with lots of wedding industry folk at East Riddlesden Hall who are one of our lovely sponsors. It’s great this time of year to let your hair down with lots of other wedding suppliers and party away into the early hours.
Today we are sharing with you this gorgeous styled shoot courtesy of Ashley Edwards. It’s a gorgeous shoot full of whimsical and bohemian charm, so naturally Kelly H and I love it! I just know you are going to as well.
I had various reasons for deciding to organise the shoot, initially I was looking for ways to rebrand my business (getting online was the first step) I then wanted to add more diverse images to my portfolio to attract the kind of clients I enjoy working with. After looking into styled shoot it made sense to give it a try myself, it started out as a small idea and grew into to something much bigger and better than I could have first anticipated. The networking aspect was also something that really excited me.
Florals and the colours were my main inspiration, I was keen to work with really amazing florals, so I started looked at the bouquets and centre pieces I liked and I took these images to the stylist and florist, Ashley. We worked closely on the project and agreed on colour schemes and many elements together, the rest of the elements were formed around this.
I defined my goals for the shoot very early on, 1. To create imagery which brought something new to my portfolio and those of the creative teams. 2. To Network and meet inspiring creatives from the industry. And lastly, the bonus goal. 3. To have the images featured in blog or print publication. I am happy to say I accomplished all three.
Over the next 2 years I have at least 6 styled shoots on the cards, some bigger than others, some will be very simple with great locations and just one model. Some of my inspiration will be beaches, ballerinas, Burne-Jones and blossom. Not all at the same time though! But I’m really excited to do this again.
