Black and White Dresses and a Chic Colour Palette – Modern Meets Industrial Boho Wedding Inspiration

Today I am taking you to Winooski in Vermont for this super stylish styled shoot. The shoot is modern with an industrial backdrop and two gorgeous brides. Same Sex wedding inspiration with a modern, stylish twist. Jaclyn Watson Events who planned and designed the shoot worked with a talented collection of wedding suppliers who pulled together this beautiful shoot. A neutral colour palette works perfectly against the black and the white of the brides dresses, creating a clean, modern take on the boho theme. A delight of a shoot with lots of fabulous ideas for a modern boho day. Big thanks to Julia Luckett Photography for the wonderful photos.

Modern Elopement Inspiration with Neutral Tones and Organic Design

Julia Luckett the photographer tells us more about the shoot

Each vendor came together with a shared vision to create a modern elopement design with a chic color palette and touches of organic design.

Waterworks is a venue and restaurant set atop the Winooski river, with views of waterfalls. The building was originally The Champlain Mill in Winooski, Vermont and was completed in 1912 as part of American Woolen Company’s expansion. Built in the Italianate style with brick from Drury Brick and Tile Company of Essex Junction, it is the newest of the four textile mills at Winooski Falls. The style of the space is a mix of modern and industrial with high windows to illuminate the space.

The design of the photoshoot was based on a neutral palette, with a focus on black and dark gray as one of the main shades. A mix of dried florals, dyed florals (including the palm frond), and delicate blooms perfectly represented that mix of modern and chic style we wanted to explore. The table was set with black candles, organic shaped plates, with dried florals on each napkin set atop a soft geometric tablecloth.

The calligrapher designed a unique and chic invitation suite, printed on her century-old iron cast Chandler & Price Letterpress. As she was designing the suite, she experimented with creating individual clay menus for each setting – each piece of clay was shaped, pressed through the letterpress and hand-painted.

Our models wore bespoke gold jewelry, with Aja in a black gown (Bennet) by Tara laTour and Alex in a white gown (Grace) by Vagabond Bridal.
