When it comes to planning your wedding, one of the main aspects you can really get creative with is your wedding tables. The wedding reception can give you the chance to pull off the Wow factor! From modern and minimalistic table arrangements to high glam decoration, to rustic chic. What ever your vibe, you can let rip with the wedding decoration and go all out with the table decor. Today I am going to look into the different areas you have to work with and give you a few options.

Shape and format of the tables.
First of all let’s look at the way the tables are going to be set out at your wedding reception. Now depending on what kind of vibe you are going for will determine what sort of lay out you are looking at. if you are gong for formal sit down dinner, you will probably want to go for a more traditional round table that traditionally sits 8-10 guests. This will make it easier for the waiting staff to get round to each guest to serve the food. However if you are looking for a more relaxed reception where the food is served family style you may opt for long tables, this option works especially well in barn venues. If you are looking for something elegant and sophisticated then why not try square tables instead of round tables, this gives the guests more room per table and gives a more dramatic ‘look’ to the reception.

Since finances can be a dividing subject in a marriage, it’s best to start with your right foot forward and open discussions right after the proposal. With emotions running high and Pinterest boards brimming with ideas, it’s all too easy for expenses to spiral.
This is where strategic money management comes into play. In this article, we’ll provide several financial tips designed to help you navigate wedding costs without side-lining your everyday finances or saddling yourselves with debt when the confetti settles.

1. Pin Down Your Budget Early
Before you make decisions about venues or vendors, settle on a budget that’s comfortable for both of you.
Here’s how to get down to brass tacks:
- Assess Your Finances Together: Gather up-to-date information about your earnings, savings, and any contributions from family members. Transparency is key – both parties need full visibility into what’s available.
- Estimate Non-Wedding Expenses: List out your current monthly expenses – rent, groceries, car payments – and don’t forget to add a little extra for unexpected costs that pop up in everyday life.
- Calculate What’s Left Over: Subtract these regular expenses from your total income. The remaining amount gives you an idea of what you could potentially save each month leading up to the big day.
- Set Savings Goals: Decide on a realistic monthly sum you can set aside and consider opening a dedicated wedding savings account. This will make tracking progress easier and avoid the temptation to dip into these funds for other purposes.
And remember, it’s not always about having more money – you can still have a wonderful wedding even when you’re working with a tiny budget. For example, if a live band feels out of reach financially, maybe find a DJ with rave reviews but better rates. Small adjustments can make all the difference without compromising on quality or enjoyment.

Yay it’s Friday! That sure did come round quickly! It’s been a hectic week at Boho HQ after the fun filled activates of the last 2 weeks Eater holidays. I am finally caught up now and have a whole host of wonderful weddings and features to share with you next week, so do make sure you pop back to find out what I have in store for you. Today though it’s the turn of Allexa and Vincent who were married on 5th September 2023 at Gilbertsville Farmhouse South New Berlin in New York. They wanted an eclectic day where they mixed in vibrant colures and rustic accents with, disco balls and lots of flowers. The result is this wonderfully bright, fun and detail heavy wedding, all brought to you perfectly by Stories by Victoria.

Today I am delighted to give you a huge burst of colour with a retro chic vibe in the form of this colourful disco styled shoot. The shoot took place on 18th May 2023 at The Rialto in Bozeman, Southern Montana and was put together to show that not all weddings need to be full of pastel tones or nude pallets (not that there is anything wrong with those sorts of weddings,) Weddings can be vibrant, alive and full of the most off beat colour schemes. Here we see a collection of bright orange and pinks, with a scattering of disco balls for good measure. Retro glam, meets modern disco and I am totally here for it!
