Sadie and Rene’s Hot Pink Tropical Greenhouse Wedding by This and That Photography

Sometimes a wedding doesn’t need loads of fancy details and decoration. Sometimes the venue does all the talking. Today’s wedding proves that – and then some. Sadie and Rene always knew that RHS Wisley was where they wanted to host their wedding. The gardens are stunning and the tropical Greenhouse is a superb location for any wedding. Couple that with the fact that Sadie is a florist and the whole day just fell into place. With hot pink flowers adding a huge pop of colour against the plants and the greenery, this wedding looks super stylish, modern and really stands out from the crowd. Kirsty from This and That Photography has done a wonderful job with the photos as ever.

A great big colourful party! With a tropical hothouse!

Rene and Sadie were married on 12th August 2017 at St Andrew’s Church Oxshott and RHS Wisley. ‘It was close to where Rene grew up and we had visited Wisley a number of times as Sadie is a florist and keen on the plants! We had 80 guests and it took a year to plan.’

How they met
On an internet dating site. 6 years. But by coincidence we had many mutual friends and had crossed paths on many occasion.

The proposal
A surprise trip to Brighton seafront for the night and a proposal on the pebbles!

How did allocate your budget?
The key thing we wanted was to have the reception at Wisley so that is where a large part of the budget went.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?
We managed to save on flowers (as Sadie is a florist) and also on entertainment as we have many DJ friends. Sadie’s best friend is a hairdresser so did the bridal hair. Sadie’s brother set up the festival style bar.

How did you choose your photographer?
Searching social media after recommendations from a friend.

The dress
Headpiece made by myself, I have a background in Design Textiles. The elements are from Petershams Millinery supplies. Dress by Chanticleer Brides in Cheltenham. Bright yellow shoes Bagatt Italy.

The suit and bridesmaids
Ted Baker hired suit. Bridesmaids – All from the High St. I gave the girls their skirts and they chose their own tops.

Theme or colour scheme
Not a colour ! No matchy matchy. Hot pink flowers, yellow shoes, I wanted an element of eclectic, with a pop of colour.

Flowers
Bridal flowers a collection of hot pink fuchsia coloured flowers. Button holes and reception flowers -dendrobium and Phalaenopsis orchids.

Decoration
None- The backdrop of the tropical plants in the glasshouse was exactly the decoration that we wanted. We did have some amazing subtle lighting which brought out the best of the surroundings of the tropical glasshouse.

Food
We had amazing caterers called The Herb Kitchen who set up a fire pit that cooked really tasty cuts of pork and beef along with lovely sides brought out on sharing boards to the tables. For dessert we had sharing plates of Eton Mess brought to the tables. Couldn’t have wished for a better meal for the wedding breakfast. We also hired a pizza van to provide evening food with cooked to order pizzas in the stone oven.

Entertainment
At the ceremony we had our very talented friend singing. At the reception we had Sadie’s dad and some close friends DJ.

Who supplied the stationery?
Ordered online fromVistaprint, With hand-made elements and handfuls of confetti added to the invitation envelopes, hand tied with ribbon,

Personal touches
Sticks of Brighton rock , Finladia vodka and fans as favours. 55 Pineapples as decoration on the tables, with the flowers and plants.

Special moments or highlights
The whole day was a whirlwind. Arriving at Wisley and having 5 minutes to ourselves with a glass of Champagne before the reception was great.

Advice for other couples
It will be stressful and you will no doubt have countless sleepless nights worrying but it will all come together in the end and you will have the most amazing day.

Biggest surprise
How smoothly it all went!
