Welcome to the week everyone! I’m here to break you in gently this afternoon with some paper pretties courtesy of the talented Pemberly Fox. Based in London this is a stationery company who aren’t afraid of colour and bold, contemporary designs. With collaborative artists and designers on hand,  there are options for all! I’ll pass you over to Michael from Pemberly Fox to tell you more…

‘A truly memorable wedding day starts with truly memorable wedding stationery, so create a lasting impression on your guests with exquisite stationery from Pemberly Fox. From Save the Date to hand written place cards, table plans to escort cards, we have many years’ experience working with couples to create their stand-out stationery. Our expertise and attention to detail is second to none.  We are armed with a host of ideas, colour options and designs to ensure all wedding stationery orders are all the happy couple has ever dreamed of. Our small team prides itself on the most personal service. We work with hundreds of couples each year to create classic or contemporary, floral or flamboyant wedding stationery to suit a wide range of budgets.’

What made you start your business?
We believe that there is a good market for beautifully crafted and designed wedding stationery.  We wanted to be able to showcase as many small designers and illustrators as possible in order to create a site that showed a very diverse range of products and appealed to a wide ranging audience. It has been so rewarding to develop relationships with and offer opportunities to relatively unknown or emerging design talent from around the world, both on our invitations and on our greeting cards. Working with these new designers, allows us to offer a broad selection of designs across our wedding portfolio.

When did you start?
We started Pemberly Fox in 2014 but we had all worked with other luxury stationers before.

Where are you based?
We are based in Lots Road in Chelsea, London.

What sort of geographical area do you cover?
Pemberly Fox is based in London but we work with clients around the UK and internationally. The sky’s the limit!

What were you doing before?
We actually worked in the stationery business for another luxury retailer of personalised stationery.

How would you describe your style?
Eclectic!  We mix traditional products and techniques with more contemporary design ideas and concepts.

What is your biggest achievement so far?
Without a doubt it would be recruiting the fantastic designers and collaborators that are either already online with us or “Coming Soon”. Working online allows us to meet and develop relationships with such a diverse mix of designers with varying styles from different cultures and geographical locations.  The whole experience has been so rewarding and great fun. We’ve made lots of new friends!

What makes you different to your competitors?
We would say that we don’t really have any direct competitors as such. We operate in many different fields of stationery but if we had to pick one thing, it would be that we have a very different approach to the business than many traditional print houses.  We are constantly updating our invitation selection and looking for new partnerships with talented designers worldwide.  We love giving the opportunity to relatively undiscovered design talent to showcase their designs on an international platform.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
It has to be meeting people from all walks of life with so many varied requests and ideas. We actually love being thrown in at the deep end of projects and finding the right design to suit each couple.

What sort of couple do you think you attract?
For Bespoke work, we tend to attract couples who are planning a destination wedding or more traditional UK wedding who are looking for quality and personal service. Many of our clients, like the rest of the world, are very time poor and need to be assured that everything will be perfect.  We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and exemplary service.  Really we have something for everyone, no matter how small the budget.

What would be your ideal wedding to work on?
Any wedding that allows for bright colours, fun designs and a little free rein.  We’re fortunate in that many of our clients are open to ideas and trust us enough to come up with some suggestions that they might otherwise not have thought of.

Can you give me some information on your pricing structure?
Our wedding stationery starts from about £80.00 but can go up to the thousands of pounds mark. What you see on website is exactly what you get, we don’t offer too many variants of the products. This is done to keep the product as simple as possible rather than overwhelming couples with too much choice.   However, when it comes to Bespoke work, the scale of the job is very much dictated by print processes used and the complexity of the final invitations and stationery for the day. It is not unusual for our Bespoke clients to spend several thousands on all of their wedding stationery.

What is your ideal way to spend a day off?
Doing something lovely with the kids.  We love nothing better than getting out of London as a family for a brisk dog walk and lunch at a country pub in front of a roaring fire.

What can you never leave the house without?
Keys!

Who would be your 5 dream dinner guests dead or alive?
Wow, that’s a tricky one.  Aside from family and friends we’d have to plump for guests who would prompt animated discussion and offer entertainment value. So, Winston Churchill, Donald Trump, Billy Connolly, Marie Curie & Agatha Christie – we could sell tickets to that one!

What would you do if you won the lottery?
Re-Invest a lot of it into developing the business overseas!  We’d also travel to all the places we’ve never been to – these are legion! – and be more philanthropic.

If you weren’t running your business, what would you be doing?
Running another one (and writing a novel on the side).
