We are half way though the week already, how is it going for you? I have been busy getting organised for Christmas, I am SO excited! I know it’s only November but I can’t wait to get into full on Christmas celebration mode! However, it is only November and I have a cracker of a wedding to share with you today. Set in the heart of Chicago, and against the most amazing venue backdrop, Diyanna and David really went to town with the most stunning venue, filled with props, vintage inspired pieces and a whole lot of fun. Big thanks to Soda Fountain Photography
There is so much about this couple that has to be said. Besides being the absolute coolest, most hilarious, classiest couple I’ve ever had, their wedding was unlike any other. Diyanna didn’t want any cheesy, boring family photos so she said.
There are a lot of amazing and strange things at Salvage One, the venue they held their stunning day in. Vintage lamps and furniture and oddities… we particularly loved the bathtubs and the marquee letters (with which we spelled out the word PENIS and totally had an inappropriate blast posing them around it).
Di’s father had passed away a few years ago, so his military tags were wrapped around her flowers. Her dress was J. Mendel with a Reem Acra overlay; her shoes Valentino. Her amazing jewelry was Alexis Bittar, her engagement ring is a brain child of David who used generational stones from various family members. His suit was Sarar; his shoes Alexander McQueen.
David arranged for a secret first dance, serenaded by two close friends. There were many tears, lots of great food and a rather glamorous ceremony/reception set up. Although Diyanna has spent her whole life living with Cystic Fibrosis and she’s a respiratory therapist in great health, David has been with her through some of the worst times imaginable. He spent years trying to convince her she should marry him!
