Ask the Experts: Wild and Wonderful Flower Inspiration – Oversized Bridal Bouquets with Campbell’s Flowers

Good afternoon everyone, today I am thrilled to welcome back Tracey of Campbell’s Flowers to Boho. As you may already know she is our resident florist expert, bloom buff, greenery genius and all round bouquet wizard. Following on from our last foliage post, today she is discussing the current trend of oversized bridal bouquets and I know you are going to love it. In my opinion you can never have too many flowers, and love that Tracey brings with her a wealth of experience and with some wonderful ideas for you all.

I’LL PASS YOU OVER TO TRACEY

Hello all.  It’s lovely to be back again in our guise as Kelly’s regular floral feature writers and our massive thanks go out to her and her team for the chance to talk again about all things flowery once again with you lovely readers.

Today we’re featuring one of our favourite current trends – oversized bridal bouquets.

Now it has to be said that everyone here at Team Campbell’s is a huge fan of wild and wonderful wedding bouquets.  Not only are they a fantastic statement piece, but they’re also incredibly versatile as they can be made in a variety of shapes and styles to totally work with your beautiful gown.  As regular readers will know, this fabulous trend is something which works well with the ethos here at Campbell’s HQ of creating beautiful, natural designs which let the materials we’re working with really shine.  We also just adore all the forms, colours and textures we incorporate into our large-scale bouquets and just love the chance to use fabulous foliage too to enhance the beautiful blooms.

Pretty Pastels

Still very much in demand, we’re currently creating a whole host of larger scale bouquets using soft pastels in beautiful blushes.  Think about introducing brighter whites with this colour palette to help make these muted tones sing and create a pretty contrast between champagnes and soft shell pinks.

Colour Pop

Jewel colours are definitely making a come-back with couples favouring mid-tones and richer colours such as marsala added to softer pastel, blush tones for a little more depth.  Think rubies, sapphires, emeralds, topaz and you’ll be on the right track!

Wonderful Whites

You may remember from our last foliage post, we talked at length at how a very simple colour way can look both simple and stylish.  Using lots of greenery with white works wonders – or maybe the addition of some bright yellow too, if you’re brave enough!

Autumnal Shades

For those of you who love nature, we just adore the idea of using seasonal fruit, berries and leaves, as do many of our brides and this Autumn we will be grabbing the chance to pop a few blackberries into our bridal bouquets.

So, as always I hope this feature has helped show the range of shapes and styles available and provided some inspiration as to how to use them really effectively.

If you have any questions or want some specific advice on all things flowery, then do leave a comment at the bottom of this post and Kelly and I will be sure to get back to you as soon as possible.
