Good Afternoon and welcome to the end of the week. The week seems to have totally flown by in a flash. I am sure it has something to do with that lovely Bank Holiday Monday we had this week and it won’t be long before the next one is here.
Today we are back with our weekly real bride feature, ‘A Diary of A Boho Bride’ and I am happy to welcome back Kerry and Doug to the blog. Today they are sharing with us all about The Hen Party details.
When you read this we will have less than a month until the wedding, feeling the pressure somewhat!
I am writing this from my Hen Doo in St Austell, Cornwall. I left my sister Charlotte (self appointed chief bridesmaid) to organise me a completely surprise weekend, the only brief was that is was all age appropriate so my mum and future mother in law could come along. After a pretty horrific journey down from Manchester that took in all 9.5 hours, me and my bridesmaid Claire turned up at this beautiful sprawling holiday with the most confusing room layout I have ever seen. The other people and Monty my mums dog turned up in dribs and drabs, and we decided to have an earlyish night to prepare for
what they had in store for me for the rest of the weekend.
It was a just family, bridesmaids and my friend Kaz who is doing a reading which was lovely and relaxed, for once I let go of all control and embraced whatever the itinerary dictated. Saturday we went to Perranporth beach, walked along the cliffs to Hollywell where we had a glass of wine and a pub lunch before walking ALL the way back, turns out we walked 9.3 miles so I was pretty tired (especially considering me and Claire had gone for a 7 k run/walk at 6.30am that morning!
After a power nap the evening festivities commenced with everyone dressing up in Alice in Wonderland homemade outfit, having cakes and party games. We were having so much fun we didn’t think about ordering food until gone 9 by which time quite a lot of bubbles had been consumed!
Sunday we visited the Lost Gardens of Helligan which was beautiful even in the rain, and I am currently waiting for an afternoon tea lunch and to find out what is in store for the rest of the day.
On another happy note I had my dress fitting 2 weekends ago and it finally fits, which has taken some of the stress out. I still want to tone up more to feel 100% comfortable but the fact it now does up makes that feel like less of a challenge. There is not much left to do in advance of the wedding and it is really good to see the to do list shortening by the day.
Next time I speak to all of you I will have had my 2nd Hen Do and we would have made our rings, so until then………..
