The weather is well and truly rubbish at the moment, so what better time to start thinking about your honeymoon plans than now. January is the time when everyone starts booking summer holidays, so why not choose January as the month you book your honeymoon and get something crossed off that wedding planning to do list. If you have been engaged a while you may have some idea of where you want to go or you may still be trying to decide. If you are newly engaged then you still may be looking at your options. Cuba

Now that U.S travel restrictions have been revoked, this Caribbean island makes the perfect final destination for honeymooners travelling through the U.S and Mexico, looking for a beach spot to complete their tour. Head to Cayo Largo del Sur for white sandy beaches, turtle watching and scuba diving experiences.

Côte d’Or, France

Forget the Côte d’Azur; in 2016 it’s all about Côte d’Or in Burgundy. This has to be one of the most romantic, underrated destinations in France and it’s ideal for romantics who want the best in food and wine. Be sure to spend a few days in Dijon to taste the exceptional local dishes; food connoisseurs and wine enthusiasts will fit right in.

Tibet

Whilst independent travel is still not possible, you are now able to prearrange permits to travel in Tibet with a guide. If you and your other half have a real sense of adventure, Tibet could be the ultimate honeymoon destination in 2016. It’s off the beaten path and you’ll be blown away by the stunning mountain landscapes dotted with incredible monasteries.
